It is good for its price, and is probably accurate enough for sprinkler systems, but it didn't work for sizing a pressure reduction valve. I got 3 different readings from 3 different hose hookups, using the same test loads each time. If you can hook it up where you will be pulling the water from (as in a hose bib outside), you should be ok. But if you need to find the flow within a pipe, (as in a main pipe in your house) the reading you get from a hose bib won't work. For that, you should rent a high dollar in line flow meter. Fluid dynamics can be tricky.

About a year ago I bought and installed four of these and I was thrilled with the even coverage (and the almost hypnotic stream motion). However, after about half a year, within a month of each other, the locking rings on two of the sprinklers developed splits causing water to gush out. After replacing them, a third sprinkler stopped rotating. I discovered that it will begin rotating again if I increase the spray radius from 15 feet to about 18 feet. For me, this causes a lot of water to go where I don't want it. So I give this three stars because it works beautifully when brand new, but seems to degrade rather quickly.

The item appears well made, but following ten days of light use (15 minutes/day), its trigger lock feature failed. I specifically chose this product because of its trigger lock feature. I note the other review currently available for this product notes the same deficiency. I also found the spray too powerful to be ideal for my patio garden (I've used other nozzles that weren't) and there's no provision for changing the strength of the water stream. I cannot recommend this product.

After dealing with two consecutive Rainbird timers which failed for the same reason - the timers were remarked to reflect power ratings of less than half those stated in the manual - I learned the hard way what not to get. Rainbird tech help is virtually non-existent. So I have tried Toro. Simply wanting a basic timer, I got the 53806. Unfortunately, in this digital age where hype and frills seem to dominate the market, something as simple as turning a switch on or off may entail understanding pages of detailed instructions and embedded sequences. Fortunately, this Toro is quite user friendly in this area, and setting the program is very basic and intuitive, especially compared to the nightmare rainbird.
