After dealing with two consecutive Rainbird timers which failed for the same reason - the timers were remarked to reflect power ratings of less than half those stated in the manual - I learned the hard way what not to get. Rainbird tech help is virtually non-existent. So I have tried Toro. Simply wanting a basic timer, I got the 53806. Unfortunately, in this digital age where hype and frills seem to dominate the market, something as simple as turning a switch on or off may entail understanding pages of detailed instructions and embedded sequences. Fortunately, this Toro is quite user friendly in this area, and setting the program is very basic and intuitive, especially compared to the nightmare rainbird. So far, not a very good experience. I paid extra for the software and transfer module. Unfortunately, the transfer module doesn't seem to actually transfer anything to the timer even though it indicates that it did. Worse yet, my manually set program doesn't finish properly leaving the system hung and needing a manual reset. If I resolve this, I will update my review but I don't have a lot of time to play around with this problem. That is why I paid extra for the software and transfer module. So far, it seems to have been an effort in futility.

I probably would never pay $40 or $50 for hand clippers as I have not yet achieved a high income bracket, but I found these on sale somewhere for $20, and for that price they are great.

It is good for its price, and is probably accurate enough for sprinkler systems, but it didn't work for sizing a pressure reduction valve. I got 3 different readings from 3 different hose hookups, using the same test loads each time. If you can hook it up where you will be pulling the water from (as in a hose bib outside), you should be ok. But if you need to find the flow within a pipe, (as in a main pipe in your house) the reading you get from a hose bib won't work. For that, you should rent a high dollar in line flow meter. Fluid dynamics can be tricky.

My old Craftsman 2-cycle trimmer gave up the ghost so I decided to go green with an electric. Once I got it going, the old Craftsman used to make short work of the weeds in my garden and behind my house. The string broke about 12 times on the Toro and I had to open up the spool to fish it out. And the garden was only about 1/4 done. I finally threw it down in disgust and gave up. It may be OK for trimming the grass around the edges of your yard, but that's about it.

I selected this product as an alternative to running wires to a 4 year old control panel. The receiver portion (small white square device not shown in product pictures) was very easy to connect taking less than 10 mins as my control panel (Non Toro brand) had sensor terminals available. Instructions were fairly easy to follow, two wire connections to the screws for the sensor, then 2 wires for power (also inside the control panel). Mounted sensor with 2 screws on edge of deck handrail and first test worked as expected. The next morning it rained and after the first 10 mins of rain the sensor set to the 1/4 inch setting activated correctly.
