I was expecting Philips bulbs but it was a different brand. Still they are pink which is what I was looking for. They are, in fact VERY pink, much pinker than the philips 3 way bulbs. They work well though.

I bought these bulbs (PAR 38, 3000K, 23 W) to replace bulbs in my office that were too hot to work under. None of us could stand the glare from these bulbs. We found ourselves squinting as if caught in some police interrogation. To top it all off, they came in a box with no packing material to cushion the bulbs. Half arrived broken.

None of the local hardware stores had this particular bulb. The house is older, with lighting fixtures to match, and we searched all over for this item. Several close calls but none actually fit. Found the right one on Amazon and it works!! Got a spare just in case. Thanks for the internet and Amazon.

I did a bunch of research at the home improvement sites to learn about these lights. R30 is an indoor flood/spot light. RC30 means it's outdoors. R30 is the smaller of the two flood light sizes. Compared to my incandescent, the neck is a bit longer so may not be quite flush with your fixtures. The light is quite white but brighter than the 65W that I replaced. Was not able to find a wattage greater than 16W for this CFL which I was looking for. I don't think GE or Sylvania makes a brighter than 16W for CFL for R30. Initially when I turned them on, the light was dim, then I realized that it takes time for the light to brighten up. So I don't plan on using these in an entry/hallway since those lights tend to be on for only a short period of time. ... Read More
