I am a retired Mechanical Engineer, having worked in engineering warranty analysis for the last 10 years using Six Sigma Black Belt training (used by many large corporations such as GE, PACCAR, etc). I purchased the Stanley MaxLife 369 Tripod and have used it 3 times in the last 9 months, the switch has failed and will not turn the light off. This type of infant mortality failure should not happen and is the result of defective components or defective processs controls. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT UNTIL THE MANUFACTURER HAS RE-DESIGNED OR CORRECTED THE DEFECT(S).

I work at a lumber yard/hardware store. We sold these as a special for Ace Hardware a few months ago. First off, they are made in China. They also have almost no weight to them because everything is all plastic. Do not buy this tool. They don't even have a durable feel when you hold them.

I got this at a steal $15 at Big Lots! I really liked it the first time I used it. But there is a reason it is cheap, the small bolt which operates the vice is only half as thick as it appears in one section. The second time I used it it snapped off! If all 150 pounds of me can break this thing the second time I used it, i'm pretty sure it will fail at some point for everyone.

I purchased this to use as my large first aid kit for disaster/emergency preparedness. Nice and roomy, sturdy. I particularly like the tray which allows contained storage of small items, and the two snap-open storage areas on the top that allow you to reach frequently needed items (like bandaids and antibiotic ointment) without opening the entire case.

This is an excellent mini screwdriver set. The tips do not break off, from normal use, like some of the oher brands of mini screwdrivers I have had. The fact that the screwdrivers are magnetic is quite helpful when dealing with slightly stripped (and or) tiny screws. The screwdrivers come in a good variety of sizes. The storage case is a nice convenience and holds the screwdrivers securely. The storage case is a bit difficult to open and remove the screwdrivers from. The screwdrivers snap tightly into the case. Take care to be gentle in removing the screwdrivers form the case so you do not break them, trying to remove them. This is an excellent choice and a great value if you need precision screwdrivers. I have been very happy with the purchase of this socket set. First, I will tell you that I use it for DIY projects around the house. I am not hard on my tools and do not use them on a daily basis. What I was looking for was a quality set at a decent price, and one that would have pretty much every socket and accessory I may need. This fit the bill perfectly. I know the black finish will seem gimmicky to the true professional, but I like them. I will agree with another reviewer that the case holds the sockets very well - perhaps too well - they are sometimes difficult to remove. Stanley is definitely a descent brand and this tool set is pretty enough for everything i need. The only thing I want to complain a little is you need t a screw driver to open this tool set. (If I had a screw driver, I may not need to buy a tool set!) Other than that, that's all fine!

I purchased 4 of these and all of them where identical and of excelent quality. Without WARNING One of the tape measures starting spinning at a high rate of speed then flew off into outer space. (In my opinion: Buying an extra tape just see it fly off is worth the risk of wasting some money on an extra ordinary tape) The 3 tape measures work fine I will review the last one if it ever flys home.

I bought this case probably six months or so ago, and haven't used it since. I'd bought it in the hopes of using it as an odds and ends storage container for nails, screws, bolts, etc. It works well for the larger items, but the minute you hold it as intended, the smaller pieces fall through the cracks into the other bins, defeating the purpose of the separate bins. While it's still a usable tote, I found the Plano brand (looks like a lunchbox) to be better suited for what I needed. The difference between the two being Plano's method of carrying the smaller bits. Rather than have the cartons tipped on their side, they're always laying flat.
