I guess technically this shredder will handle 8 sheets, but it doesn't like it. When you stick 6-8 sheets of paper in the shredder at one time the motor sounds like it's going to seize. This shredder is perfect for throwing one piece of junk mail in at a time, but not for shredding a lot of paper.

it shreds but not to good because all some has to do is piece the shredded long strands back together!...not good to shred sensitive information on this one and not worth the price!

I do like this shredder it is perfect for shredding daily mail items with information I do not want to get in the wrong hands. I also like that it doesn't have blades that are exposed so no worry about cutting fingers or anything. However it overheats too quickly so it is not a heavy duty shredder for the price you pay for it. I don't think it cost near as much to make as they charge for it. But it will do for me. I still have to cut cards up with scissors. I do like that it is a straight cut and not all the confetti that makes a big mess. So it is a good thing for me. But I don't think it would be the thing for someone else who is looking to shred a lot of stuff and credit cards.
