We live in a completely rehabbed 100 year old home. Every fall the mice come into our house, and we spend the rest of the winter getting rid of them. I've spent the last 8 years plugging every crack and hole we could, and our house is pretty buttoned up at this point. And yet, the mice keep finding a way in. I've tried a lot of other things -- the electronic gadgets, etc., but this product has been the first to keep them out !! I'd give it a 5, but it ran out faster than manufacture suggested. The footprint of my home is 25x50 and I used up the entire 20 oz can in one shot.

This product did not work at all. I sprinkled it all over my squash plants repeatedly after a woodchuck got into them. The woodchuck continued eating the plants, even with the shake away powder all over them. Instead of repelling, I think it actually made the leaves taste better. My squash plants are completely gone. Don't waste your money on this product.

I'd been having trouble with neighborhood cats using unplanted portions of my garden beds as litter boxes. I cleaned the areas up and applied shake away granules (hard to shake out because particles stick together & watch out because the top of the container doesn't fit well and can pop off). Within 2 days the cats were back. I cleaned up my beds & reapplied "Shake Away" granules before going to work, by noon there was a fresh pile. In addition when my cat went outside she sniffed the air and immediately went into the garden bed (where she'd never gone before) and started sniffing around. This product is a is a total waste of $$ and appears to attract cats!

I researched many different products to eliminate squirrels around a bird feeder and this one received the highest remarks. The day I placed the packets on the feeder, the squirrels were sniffing them. They were not bothered at all. The overall result was they had absolutely no effect in keeping the squirrels away from the feeder and I would not waste my money in the future.
