I picked these up for my landscaping company, to get a set of small handheld tools to assist with planting tasks. I've been a fan of Radius Garden's NRG-PRO tools, and decided these went along nicely with that same theme. Of course, to really be useful they have to do their job well, and not just look pretty. These tools succeed, and have shown no signs of wear or tear despite digging into both cultivated soil and uncultivated meadow areas. Perhaps the best statement about them is that, after six hours of use a day, you don't notice any problems. They really act as extensions of your hands. The Radius Natural Grip Weeder is a light sturdy and inexpensive garden weeder. Its use speeds the process of digging out roots with ease. I like it alot better than hori hori. The lime green padded handle is very comfortable in your hands and makes the tool hard to loose in foliage.

The curved ergonomic grip allows excellent leverage when digging & cultivating. I could apply much stronger force without stressing out my wrists and forearm as in traditional straight grips.

When I first came across these, I thought they looked neat, and maybe they might not function so bad. The look had additional marketing appeal for my landscaping company, something to set us aside from others. However, I wasn't really sure they'd suit a functional purpose, so I tentatively ordered the shovel to give it a trial run and to see if I could live with it. I've since gone out and stocked up on all the NRG-PRO tools, their hand tools, and I'm looking forward to at least some of the NRG-STX series tools as well. All of the tools have a great balance. They are easier to control and carry materials across distances ~ a simple open hand across the circular handle keeps them from spinning and dropping whatever they're carrying. I really liked the idea of this series of tools, but I doubted it would work out for me. As the earlier review mentions, the tool is short - mid-length, technically - and, like the other reviewer, I'm tall. Also, it seemed to have the potential to be mere gimmickry. I figured I'd get one of the tools, test drive it for a bit, and then grab the rest if I like it. I wound up picking the shovel for that first test. My yard formed the testing grounds. It's thick clay in most parts, as the builders did their best to truck away the good topsoil and replace it with something that wouldn't sink their equipment. Clay, and rocks. Dig any spot and you'll hit at least one sizable rock. It killed two shovels and a digging fork, so it is dirt that does not play well with digging tools. ... Read More
