I bought this along with the "Mantis E-System Electric Power Head". At first I was all excited to take care of business and show my overgrown hedge a thing or two. After a few sessions out there, the thing busted. I took it to a local dealer who took a week to replace a ball bearing or something, and then charged me 75 bucks. Apparently the warranty doesn't mean jack if you don't buy locally. Well, then I got another couple hours out of this thing before it broke again. All I can say is that if you have a hedge with anything more than a couple millimeters in diameter (mine is a laurel) use something else.

Honestly, we were getting rats. Lifting the compost off the ground solved the problem and now we get faster compost. It's easy to turn so the compost actually gets turned regularly which yields faster composting. We can fit our yard cart underneath so moving the newly made compost is easy too.

I've been watching the price of the Swiftsplit for at least two years but $495 was more than I wanted to spend on an electric splitter. When Amazon listed the splitter at $222 plus freight ($95 because the splitter weighs 154 lbs.) I had to give it a chance. The assembly takes about 30 minutes or so, nothing really difficult. Then it was time to head to the wood pile. I used the splitter on seasoned and fairly green wood (8" to 12" in diameter) and it handled everything. On pieces of wood that are right at 20" the splitter may not completely split so a little manual may be needed, but nothing strenuous. So far, I'm really happy with this splitter.

I had been considering a Muller's SmartCart (they are in Maine and they cost about 300, not including shipping), but when this Mantis LoadDumper fell to about 105 I thought I would give it a try and save more than 200 off a SmartCart. Even though I did save, I think it was a mistake. Unlike regular wheelbarrows and garden carts you have to push down on the handles to get it off its knees, and then it starts rolling. Unfortunately, because you are pushing down, the cart has a tendency to scoot forward and away from you (kind of like how a dolly tries to get away from you when you push down on its handles to get it from standing to rolling). I bought this dethatcher with aerator after I bought the cultivator/tiller. I have been using this dethatcher for over 3 days now. We have a big lawn th e front lawn is at least 100 ft x 40 ft, and more from the 2 sides of the house, back of the house etc... This I used it for a big area. It has performed more than I anticipated, I just have to make several passes because it is a small machine, but performs a grate job. JUst make sure that you put the wheel on the right place, like R on the right side, I made a bubu on mine and I was wandering why I was not able to remove the brown thatch, but when I got it working it was good. I will aerate my lawn tomorrow before I apple my fertilizer. I have collected several bags of nasty brown dry grass and left over dead weeds from last year.
