This tool does not feel good in your hand. I don't like it... It feels cheap. My friend bought the Gerber tool. We traded and both agreed the Gerber Freehand feels and looks better.

These are great! Makes the leatherman even more handy, without having to use a case etc. I like them. Just what I wanted. Real easy to snap on and they do hold, like premanent.

This is a beautiful, useful, precision tool. I am an avid ocean boater, and I would never go to sea without my Leatherman. This particular model has possibly the most useful combination of blades and tools, including a ratcheted blade, which is invaluable for cutting seaweed kelp or tangled lines. If you use the Leatherman in a salt-water environment, it is important to knock all of the salt off with a fresh-water (and soap) rinse. If you do this you will get years of service from your Leatherman. If you do not do this, you still will, but the blades will tighten up and become hard to unfold until you work them loose. Keep it clean. This is a very nice tool and it makes a great gift.

I like the locking components. I've had cheaper tools that didn't lock & had some close calls when the knife or saw/file collapsed.

I have had the Leatherman Kick for a couple of years and still use it all the time. The blade is still excellent and all of the other tools on it are still like new. I especially love the pliers. They have excellent grip, they're very sturdy, and a solid strong hold. The screwdrivers also work great, even better than some of my "standard" ones because of the extra leverage the handle allows. I have never had issues with it slipping. It's very versatile. I love having it around.

This Leatherman has not left my belt since I got it. The outside-opening blades are a wonderful change from the traditional inside-opening ones. The blades are sharp, and the tools are strong. I work as an IT admin, and the pliers and screwdrivers are priceless. I have owned a Gerber and a few knock-off brands, and they bent and broke. The Wave holds up. Highly recommended.

I get these around every two months or so, I open and close these about 200 times a day and wear out the velcro, But amazon is the cheapest source, free shipping and under the price of the local store

This case came with my new model Wave. I have had some of the nylon cases before and they don't seem to wear well. As another reviewer said, the Velcro likes to wear out. So I ordered the wave with the leather case. It has a solid button closure. Yes, the leather is stiff, but if it wasn't...it would wear out quickly....DUHHH! I wear mine vertically and haven't really had a problem getting it on/off the belt. Haven't tried horizontal. I would give it 5 stars, but the little pockets inside the case are very thin. They are wide enough to hold the extra bit sets you can get, but I can only fit in one holder (the set comes with two holders). This part does basically go together as designed, but poorly. The flattened bits fit very loosely in the driver. While they stay in, they wobble a lot which means that you need to have to hold the bit and screw straight while you're using it. Then, when you try to use a standard one sided bit, there is nothing to keep it from being pushed well into the body of the bit driver, making them useless. I think they tried to do too much. They made a holder for the flat leatherman bits that's too loose to give you any confidence in it, because they made it to be able to take full sized bits, but those push into the body because it's made for their two sided bits. Had they picked one or the other, this would be a much better product. That said, it will turn a screw.
