I purchased 3 sets of these lights to use as uplighting around the front of my home. I am impressed with the amount of light that these put out and how easy they are to install. Not enough to "shine" through the windows to disturb the darkness but a nice glow to illuminate the landscape. I am going to order 2 more sets for each side, they look kind of bare compared to the front. They are in no way as bright as the electic powered lights but they are just as pretty. I put them out today and a couple of my neighbors approched me this evening and asked me "who did your lighting"...

Easy to operate, works like a charm. This unit was cheaper than the department stores that I'd checked.

I bought four and all worked fine right out of the box. I'd give 5 stars except the night light is a waste - very dim, useless to the point of wasting electricity (can't imagine it uses much, though). My cost for four of these was less than the cost of just two similar items at Target.

I bought the light timer and used it on a trip to NYC. It does what it promises so I give it an A.

I've read many reviews here some saying this is very easy to program, others saying it is very difficult. I lean towards the difficult. It isn't so bad if you have the directions readily available and follow them precisely step by step, but lose your directions or try to do any programming without them and you'll have a mess on your hands. I like the dawn to dusk features and that makes programming easier. I think the difficulty in programming comes, when like me, you only want it on for a few hours during the evening.

We just hooked ours up to our Christmas lights and love it. I hate those auto on "dusk/dawn" timers because they blip on and off when the light levels aren't quite completely changed. With this, you can guarantee they all come on at the same time and it's so easy to set. I love all the Intermatic mechanical timers and even have their lamp timers throughout my house. I find they are the easiest to use inside and outside the house and the most reliable. I also highly recommend this one Intermatic HB1113RC Heavy Duty Outdoor Timer with Three Receptacles, Ground Stake with Weatherproof Cover, Black. They both work great, but each might work out better than the other depending on your lighting set-up circumstances.

I wanted a timer on a cord, and this is one. It has a clear, larger display. And setting the two on/off times is almost intuitive. (You need not use both settings.) Unit is quiet, unlike some cheap mechanical timers. And I liked the price. Here's the slight catch. One would expect that you plug your lamp (or whatever) into the timer. Unfortunately, you plug the lamp into the back of the timer's wall plug. This necessitates pulling out any furniture further from the wall so as to not crush the plugs. I can see that Intermatic designed this setup to avoid (among other things) another set of messy wires on your end table. I will buy another one.

Intermatic EJ500C Flush Mount Programmable 24 Hour Timer Recently purchased this Item to rplace a similiar one that finally died. Only difficulty is it requires a switch cover plate that is different from the original unit. Although closely resembles the repaced item I should have checked further

We use it in my son's room to turn off the light after he's asleep. We've had it a few months and now it's making a constant buzzing noise. It's so loud I don't know how my son gets to sleep each night, but he doesn't seem to mind it. I would. It's a very annoying sound.
