Looked at quite a few stainless range hoods. You can certainly pay a lot more for a unit than you will for this one - but why? The quality of the unit is fine, the fan is not loud and it moves enough air to pull out all the cooking fumes we generate. All in all, a great value for the $$.

Looked at quite a few stainless range hoods. You can certainly pay a lot more for a unit than you will for this one - but why? The quality of the unit is fine, the fan is not loud and it moves enough air to pull out all the cooking fumes we generate. All in all, a great value for the $$.

Air conditioner works fine but the noise is unacceptable. Plus it's made in China. After the summer I am going to sell in search of a quieter unit. The unit is in my bedroom and when I watch TV I have to increase the volume considerably to override the noise of the unit. We had a wind driven rain storm a few days ago and the rain actually came thru the unit into the bedroom. I was mopping up water for a while. This unit is not worth the money. I am searching for a unit that is manufactured in the United States (if there are any). I was told that Friedrich was made stateside. So I'll check them out.

This hood is your typical run of the mill oven hood, it works great and looks great, it is the same type they offer in HomeDepot/Lowes but its says Frigidaire and its less than half the price...!

We did a lot of comparison shopping and tested many models before buying The Frigidaire FAC106P1A Compact II 10,000-BTU Room Air Conditioner with Electronic Controls. We recently moved to an apartment that only allowed a thru the wall type not to exceed 10K BTU but we wanted a unit that if we ever left here could be used in a window. We also wanted this unit to be Energy Star Efficient, the highest output for recycling the air and a high level of removing moisture. We compared models that ranged from this ones low price up to $700.00. As we are only allowed 1-unit in our apartment and it is about 900 square feet, we knew this wouldn't cover the whole apartment, but we hoped that with its superior to most specs. The unit is loud with fan on even at low setting and it does not improve when on a/c. Also no one has mentioned the fact that it lets in a huge amount of daylight which is a pain when you have it in a bedroom. No other a/c we have used lets in light like this, what a design fault. I have had to put a mat on top of the outside and even this does not stop the light getting thru.

I purchased this A/C due to the high feedback and boy am I glad. I could not use the brace that came with unit on my particular windows, I hadn't planned on using it anyway. I purchased a separate heavy duty brace for 15000btu units that can be purchase from your local hardware. The heavy duty brace is sturdier and fairly easy to install. You need two people to lift unless you're Mr Olympic, other than that installation was moderate for a unit this size. The unit will probably stay installed all year long due to the weight and I'll just have to keep it covered. This big boy cooled the down stairs above my expectations. The hood is smaller than I expected, though it fit the opening at 30". It does look much better than the one I replaced, and old, bulky, stained white one. It is easy to get finger prints on the stainless steel; but, overall I am pleased with the price and the new look.
