Product easy to mount on platform. Seems well made. Previous mailbox (same brand) held up for 10 years, then door hinge broke. Door latch requires a bit of force to close; that would be GOOD as door is very secure once closed, but apparently this effort is too much for our mail delivery person.

I hate companies that don't test a product. And they obviously didn't test it. How could anyone in good conscience put this out? I've had my Flambeau T-1003 Barn Mailbox up for a couple weeks now. I noticed immediately that the latch was a problem, as stated in all the reviews. I was either gonna install a pneumatic blasting device to open the door for the mailman, or hire Ox from down the road to stand next to the mailbox when the mailman arrives everyday. Instead, I adjusted mine by filing down the little do-hickey on the door that goes in to the wha-cha-ma-callit. It works pretty good now, but the mailman had to learn all over again how to close a mailbox. It takes a pretty postive thump to get the door to close all the way. And, if he doesn't thump ... It was difficult to open the tool box initially & then 1 three holed lever popped off the pins on one side & another 2 hole popped off on the other side. Neither will stay attached after pushing them back on the pins. Several e.mails to the company have never been acknowledged even though their website quotes "Need some advice? Got a question?
