I ordered this unit only to have it arrive with a huge crack on the housing that forms the handle. Although the nailer likely still functions, I returned it for exchange as even a recondition tool should come intact. Amazon tells me they have no reconditioned units left to exchange it with and offered to refund my money. Given that I can still order one of the reconditioned units as of Dec. 3, it would seem to me that Amazon knows these units come slightly damaged or they need to overhaul their inventory system. Given how many of these units seem to be damaged based on the other reviews, I am thinking I'll but a new Porter Cable combo pack instead.

Stapler has worked flawlessly thus far. Using it to install Hardiplank. Easy to load and to use. Lightweight. Amazon's price made the stapler cheaper than an off brand.

I bought this nailer specifically to use the Hurriquake nails on earthquake reinforcement projects. Its been a pleasure to use and have had only a couple of misfeed nails. The plastic debris from the nail clips does make a mess - wearing good eye protection is a must. It is surprisingly light for it's size, and has excellent power.

I used these nails to install 3/4" maple & brazilian cherry hardwood floors at my house. I've used about 1.5 boxes so far and no jams. Only one nail was bent and didn't go through the cherry. That happened to be the last nail in the nailer so I think that's more of a problem of the nailer instead of the nail. Now I put a new row of nails in before it runs out in the nailer. No bent nails had happened since then and it also protect the nailer from dry firing. Great product. It's cheaper at amazon than my local HomeDepot.

I did not purchase mine off of Amazon (Ebay) but I just wanted to write how happy I am with this unit. I paid $180 with free shipping for my unit. I have used this to put crown molding and chair rail in my house and I have not had a misfire yet and the compresser works like a charm. Lots of people talk about how loud it is so I was expecting not to hear myself think but it is not half as loud as I thought it would be. But the hose that comes with this unit is a POS so I just went to northern Tool and bought a high quality 50 foot house for $23.00 but that is really the only thing bad I can can say. All guns feel like quality products and all work great. Dont think twice about purchaseing this unit!

These are great for crown molding or holding glued appliques until they dry. But usually the wood fibers don't close up around them again and a tiny hole is still visible, with a shiny metal pin head in it. And if not shot in straight or with enough power they stick out of the wood slightly and you probably won't notice until you get a nasty scratch as you rub your arm against it! If you have a 23ga pinner with an adjustable piston, set it to a slightly higher pressure than you need to set the pin flush. That way it leaves a tiny pin-sized cavity above the pin head that can be filled and stained without affecting the surrounding finish. That is the way I found works best to make these really disappear.

If you do trim work, or work with very thin wood...you need to go to these headless pin nail...no more spliting wood, holds tight and little if any conciling the nail hole...because they are so small a regular finish would hide most of them....best idea in woodworking I've seen in years.
