This saw works as advertised. Easy to assemble and use and not hard to handle. I use the provided small bottle to manually oil the chain after each usage. The batteries are interchangeable with other B&D 18v products. The only limitation is the usage from the single battery before requiring a charge. I have two additional batteries, so this is not a problem for me , but could be for others.

the product itself works decently for the 10 minutes that it lasts. the result can be neater but it does cut the grass- most of it anyway. However, even with my small yard, it took me exactly 2 weeeks to complete. A reviewer wondered why the manufacturer gave no indication of the length of time it takes to fully charge the battery. there's a reason for that dear reviewer, they are afraid no one will buy the product if u knew it takes about 18 hours for maximum charge, after which, u only get ten minutes of power. Exactly 10 and no more. Therefore i had to use the trimmer every morning, then charge it all day and night so that it would be available for my 10 minutes next morning. Great for the yard, best battery life I have come across if you take proper care of charging them. This is my second set in ten years and only because the package was cheaper than buying extra batteries, all the original tools still work great.

This is a good product that does what it promises: it extends your reach in trimming bushes and weeds. You can reach about five or six feet beyond your arm's length. That's the good news. The bad news: even though the trimmer is relatively light, you are still holding six or seven pounds at the end of a pole. That's a fair amount of leveraged weight. After twenty or thirty minutes of use, I was exhausted. And for days afterward my shoulders and back ached. I was forced to stop using the trimmer and return it to Amazon (which took it back, no questions asked--excellent customer service.) This product does all the manufacturer says it does. Only slight negative is the about 30 min run time/charge. It would be nearly PERFECT with a Litium-Ion battery!

Item works very well and one charge of the battery lasts a relatively long time. I had to remove the guard in order to have more than 2.5" of string actually cutting at once.
