I got one for my birthday in June 2008. The wrench jaws operate smoothly but the wrench is not strong enough to loosen tight bolts. Many a time, I've come close to tearing apart the claws, and have had to throw it aside to use a real wrench that got the job done. So, for easy jobs like loosening nuts on a bike, this will work, but for real work, this wrench is not worthy of sitting in my tool box.

I have been very happy with the purchase of this socket set. First, I will tell you that I use it for DIY projects around the house. I am not hard on my tools and do not use them on a daily basis. What I was looking for was a quality set at a decent price, and one that would have pretty much every socket and accessory I may need. This fit the bill perfectly. I know the black finish will seem gimmicky to the true professional, but I like them. worked great to start with but you can see the edges that grip wearing down , do not know how long they will be good for

I do renovations of old homes and don't come across bolts very often so I don't like to keep a whole socket set cluttering up my tool bag or truck. However, I do come across them occasionally and have found this "universal" socket wrench to handle virtually every situation in one handy little tool that has earned a spot in my tool bag. Removing a wrought iron railing the other day, one of my carpenters asked if I had a socket set to remove the bolts holding the railing to the brick, and I handed him this. He looked at it suspiciously but tried using it and now he wants one. You have to ensure you have the right size. So far, it does NOT fit around anything I have. I purchased it to help me get the washer thing off the kitchen sink neck thingy...but it is too small.

I've only had this set for a short period of time but I KNOW they are quality. I used to do some advertising/design work for Bondhus. They put a lot of thought into their tools and the metal used is INCREDIBLY hard. This set will go great with my bike, to make little adjustments as well as when I need to open up a cell phone for repair. MOST cells now days use T-keys.

This is a good product for a good price. It's from Stanley so you know it's quality. However, as another reviewer noted, you get two separate sets, one metric and one SAE, not 17 in 1 as the title would have you believe. No problem, I'd rather them be separate; 17 in 1 would be too bulky.
