I'll pit this sharpener up against any of the expensive contraptions. When the cutting edges wear out after 30 or 40 sharpenings, reverse the edges. When it wears out, so what. Just buy another one and you are still dollars ahead of anything else.

In 20 passes, your knife should go from dull to sharp. Works OK with larger blades, like the Fiskars axes too. So easy to use.

Works for me as advertised. I used it on kitchen knives as well as scissors and it sharpened both. I have had one of these for 3 years and bought the ones from Amazon to give as gifts.

Very cost effective. Keeps our precious knives working their best. Fairly easy to install; just be sure little ones aren't around at the time. We are very happy with our AccuSharp Knife Sharpener and the replacement blades. We've tried several different types of knife sharpeners and this is definitely our favorite. We love to cook and having sharp knives is very important to the cooking process, so we take this seriously. Highly recommend!

Sharpens your knife razor sharp and leaves a nice polished finish too. It's handy to have 3 different grade stones, depending on how dull your blade is. It was shipped fairly fast with standard shipping. Only problem is it does not have rubber stoppers on the bottom, so it might slide across your surface you have it on. Overall a great buy and a must have for keeping your knives sharp.

The design is simple and inexpensive. A roller with a metal brace attached. Unlike some other models I found, this one is made out of metal instead of plastic so it will probably last considerably longer I bought it thinking it would be just the ticket for sharpening a bunch of old chisels in my tool box. Unfortunately I couldn't get half the chisels to sit in the guide properly which made it unusable for those. Secondly, you have to position the chisel with a certain length extending from the front depending on if you want a 25 or 30 degree angle. If you don't measure "perfectly" you won't get the right angel and the chisel won't sharpen properly. I'm now looking for a design with a FIXED angle.

This is not a flimsy kitchen store tool. It is very solid, commercial grade kitchen tool. Besides fitting my hand very well, I appreciate the unbreakable ceramic material the steel is made of. I have ordered several styles of DMT steels and have been very happy with the quality product that they provide.

I've only used it a few times but it worked well. Its made of several interleaved spring fingers about 3/8" wide with diamond grit on them. It takes a few tries to get the hang of using it. If my memory serves it creates a 35 degree edge. The gerber knifes I tried all sharpened easily and I'm guessing they already start with this angle on their edge. The chinese knives I tried took 8 or 9 swipes before the edge really started to form. Short knives, 1 1/2 " or less, don't work well with this sharpener.

If you need a decent way to sharpen your $10 set of chisels and your $15 block plane, this is the kit for you. It's not real elegant, but so what. Do you really need perfectly square tips to clean up notches you made with a circular saw? This thing is good enough for your utility chisels and block planes(both of which work a lot better sharp, you will see). If you need something better than this you probably know it. If you just like having quality gear get a veritas.
