I appreciated being able to throw my body weight behind the IceDozer. Unfortunately, this item is not very good at removing a thin coating of ice. It just slides over the thin stuff without removing much of it It's great at removing ice that's thick-enough to have an edge that the Dozer can bite into. I used the blade this week to take up some old flooring after seeing it done on tv. It really works.

I've used these little scrapers everywhere -- home, garage, and office. You might not think such a small handle offers much improvement over a bare blade, but it provides significantly more control and leverage. The blade does not retract, but you can store the scraper by reversing the blade so the sharp edge is inside the handle. Or, if you're lazy like me, you can also wedge the blade between two flat surfaces such as the front & bottom of a drawer.

This is the first spokeshave I've purchased or used and it worked great for me. I have recently ground the bottom face smooth as a couple other reviews said to do, however when I used it to shape my cabriole legs it worked great as is. The cast iron handles give a solid and easy feel. It was necessary to hone the blade first as is to be expected. I was happy to see that it was made in England and not China also. I have several Stanley planes that work great. They take a bit to get adjusted just right but when they are set I'm happy.

If you have a shower stall that needs to be re-grouted, like I did, then this is the best tool for the job. You will probably want to order extra blades, like I did, to stack together depending on how wide your tile is spaced.

This tool must be the greatest wood working secret in the world! I learned about it in a wood-finishing book. The scraper is to sandpaper what a word processor is to a typewriter. When sharpened properly, the scraper smoothes wood faster and better than sandpaper ever will. Learning to sharpen the scraper is easy. You just need a vise, an 8" mill file and a burnishing tool (which I highly recommend you purchase). Youtube has several clips showing how to sharpen a scraper. The scrapers are high quality steel and are made in England.

This is an amazing tool. It works better than anything like it. The problem is replacement blades, where to get them and how much they cost. Amazon does not sell them (yet) and they can cost up to $9.00 each. The blade should last until I can find them for less. A must tool for wood, fiberglass and any other molding work.
