I should have heeded the warnings of other reviewers regarding the noise level of this device. It may be very effective at removing the dust, but I just can't deal with the noise. I suffer from tinnitus and when this thing began to scream, I thought I was going into orbit! No thank-you, I'd rather deal with the dust.

I have used this while doing a kitchen renovation and it has worked very well. I think it is largely going to depend on whether the vacuum/ shopvac that you are using is strong enough and filtered well enough, but ours has worked great. Not really even any dust left on the wall. Any pole sander is a little unwieldy and the hose adds a bit of bulk, but it's been worth the very minor annoyance of dealing with the hose to not have to entomb the area you are working on in plastic & dropcloths. I'd highly recommend this product. I don't know how well it'd stand up in a professional application, but for the do it yourselfer with the occasional project, this is great. Well worth the money when you consider the time savings and the health benefits of not inhaling the dust.

Will made but hard to use on ceilings but great on walls. I needed for ceilings so I was disppointed with the sanding pole.

I tried 'em all. The sanding block on a pole---my arms STILL hurt from that and dust got in my eyes! The wet sponge or rag---not dusty, but it took forever. My orbital palm sander worked well, but the plaster gummed up its insides. Enter the FibaTape Dustless Drywall Sander. I was helping my bro-in-law Goog remodel his bathroom. After putting the first layer of mud up I left him to do the sanding. (Because I hate it.) But a friend of his had one of these dandy FibaTape sanders hooked up to a shop vac! Presto! Sanding drywall was a dream! Almost effortless, and best of all---NO DUST! Note: We used the FibaTape sanding screens, and they worked VERY well. I'm getting one of these babies because I know that after the first two jobs it will have paid for itself.
