This was advertized as self opening but after a liberal oiling it still sticks shut. Maybe it take some use to loosen it up. I have not actually used it for a job yet because I want to practice on a piece of scrap Al first. Looks like it should work as advertised.

Snips are snips so I can't be too picky. However, I picked up a pair of these already owning a perfectly good pair of Wiss snips as I was tackling a large drop-ceiling job and expected to have help that wouldn't have tools. These were by far the more popular as the tip is just a bit longer and not as thick as the Wiss snips. This allowed for a lot more single, clean cuts rather than just gnawing through once the first cut doesn't quite reach the full distance of the cut.

I purchased these thread nippers for use as a fly tying tool. Extremely sharp and easy to use. Finger hole large enough to actually use. Will cut thread just by touching. Easy to keep in hand while tying which is a great time saver thus increasing production.

This is not merely a pair of scissors. It's a wire cutter and stripper, tin snips, garden shears, and whatever else you can think of... and they'll still cut paper after doing these heavy duty chores. I am a communications contractor and use these on a daily basis, cutting all kinds of stuff, abusing them by scissor standards for sure, and they are simply amazing. These snips are incredibly versatile. They're recommended by the manufacturer for thinning fruit trees. That's just the beginning. I use them for just about everything in the garden--cutting back & thinning shrubs, dead-heading roses and all flowering plants, even pruning smaller-diameter branches. They're easy to get into real tight spots because they're not as bulky as pruning shears and they're much lighter. They're better than scissors because you can use 'em wearing gloves and they have spring-tension so they open by themselves.
