Basically worthless. Burned up several bits trying to cut circles in 1/4" and even 1/8" Masonite. Money wasted. It would probably work with thin softwood.

Very versatile, works great. While there are some professional grade wire crimpers of a little higher quality, they don't usually have the versatility of this set.

I work with low-voltage wire everyday, so a good wire cutter/stripper is imperative, and these deliver. Pros: they are very sharp and cut well, and the stripper notches do a good job at cutting through wire shielding. It has a pliers like grip on the nose which has come in handy more than once. It also has an area behind the hinge for crimping B-connectors, etc. Another nice feature is that it is thin and compact, which makes it nice when keeping it in a pocket or tool belt. finally, these strippers look much nicer than products from Klien, etc. Cons: My main beef with these strippers is the spring mechanism; it is not held on very well, so it can pop out and get lost if dropped or opened to far. We find that it really makes it much easier to open kids gifts (which seem to be cursed by an excess of that hard plastic casing), and it's nice not to have to worry that you're going to hurt yourself when you're opening up some little item you bought!

I used to use the one sided trimmer. It gave terrible results. Now that I use this double edge trimmer, the banding comes out clean and sharp. It does not follow the grain of the banding as most of you may think. Just keep a consistent, snug squeeze and run it in one swift, quick movement. Nice crisp edge. A bit of sanding to break the edge and move on to the next one. This trimmer is worth every penny.

If you do any laminate work at all, you gotta have this tool! This is the one tool that pays for itself through saved time of having to manually cut each edge of laminate sheet. I have owned several of these slitters through the years in my countertop business and can tell you that they are very reliable. The only maintenence required is to change the 2 cutter blades every 3-4 years. Highly Recommend!

This was advertized as self opening but after a liberal oiling it still sticks shut. Maybe it take some use to loosen it up. I have not actually used it for a job yet because I want to practice on a piece of scrap Al first. Looks like it should work as advertised.
