This is one of those no-brainer simple tools that any mechanically inclined person should have invented years ago. It is a tool that while on the job you conveniently carry in your pocket and use when the nailing position is a little awkward. Save a few smashed fingers and by this inexpensive tool.

The cutting tube of this tool is well aligned with the brass cutting-anvil on the other side of the punch, and it gives no indication of drifting or wobbling like so many of the light weight ones end up doing. At 18.6 oz,I don't find the weight excessive, but rather reassuring, it was also not excessively oily. My only complaint about the handle is that as the jaws come together, the last ~3/8" gets really tight, meaning that functionally the jaw is only 1 1/4" deep unless your leather is Very thin. This could be fixed at home with a file, but I am a bit irritated. The cutting tubes are adequate, but I find I have to punch from both sides of a piece or do a lot of twisting to get the hole all the way through. Being able to find the correct nail set by correct color saves using the wrong one and damaging the wood! Great idea and I only wish Stanley included a flexible holder that "stored" all three; (I would suggest a pair of clips like those used to hold ignition wires).

This is a quality leather working tool. I am only an occasional user and purchased it for adding holes to the leather strap for my daughter's shoes and a similar purpose for adding holes in my wife's belts. The small punch size fit the narrow shoe strap and the tool works very well. Before I purchased this tool, I was using a drill bit and hammer and nail combination which I found too tedious. I don't know enough about leather tools to judge how an experienced leather worker would enjoy using it, however, I can definitely recommend it for anyone who occasionally needs to punch leather.

I've had one of these for about eight years. It's been useful for setting finish nails when there's not room to swing a hammer or a hammer isn't at hand. It's basically a nail set tip attached to a spring attached to a length of drill rod (all nicely machined of course). You pull back the rod and let it go to drive the tip onto the nail. It's a great design and couldn't be simpler or more foolproof.

I do little nailing, but I like to salvage usable wood from junk furniture. The nail puller is fantastic, even on headless nails. Couldn't ask for more than that. Buy this and any Shark saw to get over the $25 for free shipping - great deal!
