Stay warm and save energy, this product is easy to apply with plenty of tape for multiple windows. This product works great for odd sized windows, because it is one sheet of plastic that you cut to size.

Although having the top edged pretaped seems like a good idea, it doesn't really work. All of mine are coming down after only a week. Not really worth it if you have to keep messing with it after you've installed it.

We have a below grade door that suffers a considerable draft and dampness during strong rains. This item manages to squish into the space well and then even though it is exposed to constant damp it has not mildewed. I am impressed and want another. None to be found on Amazon today. I'll have to shop around.

1. Measure the tank's height. Mark the foil side with a magic marker, then cut the wrap on the floor. It's near impossible do it with the wrap on the tank. There are foil tabs to secure the wrap to the top of the tank . . . make sure you cut the correct side. I found that scissors worked just fine to cut it. 2. My gas water heater is only thirty gallons. The width of the wrap did not need adjustment - it just fit. The description says it fits up to 60 gallon size. I can't see how. Last year I sealed my windows the hard way. This year I accidentally found the M-D Shrink & Seal Window Kit at a local store, and decided to give it a try figuring it couldn't be any worse than what I went through last year. What a piece of cake to to install! When it came time to smooth out the wrinkles with the hair dryer I had to purchase for the job, it took just about 3 minutes, and I did not have to get all that close at all to the sheeting with the hair dryer. Now I did this tonight, so it is dark out, but I mean the sheeting looks like a pane of glass over practically the entire surface. If I were to really take my time at it, I bet it would come out looking like a pane of glass. I am a nuts 'n bolts kind of guy, and so the looks (especially since it is behind drapery of sorts) ... I found the plastic sheeting in this package very thin, easy to tear, and difficult to trim with a scissor. Measure your window before buying this product! My window opening was 42" x 46" which is slightly too large for this kit because the plastic sheet is 42" x 64". As a workaround, I purchased 3mil thick plastic sheeting (12'x 9') and cut a piece that was the right size (with enough room for 3" overhang on each side) to seal my window. The double-stick tape in this package is actually pretty decent for this application. By the way, this item (M-D Building Products 42-by-62-Inch Shrink and Seal) was available at my local Lowe's for $1.98 each.
