I have an Overhead Door brand opener. I think this brand is only available through independent dealers. My remote was 10 years old and I needed a new one. I was glad to find that this little remote would work with Overhead Door. I simply opened the lens that covers the lightbulb, pushed the learn button, pushed the remote control button twice within a few seconds of one another and it was ready to go. Works great. Verify on Genie's site that your garage door opener works with this remote before ordering...just to be sure.

This is the third time we've had to replace the garage door opener. After the first time it broke, Genie sent us a replacement and all we had to pay was the shipping. That one broke almost immediately, and so far, the most recent one purchased through Amazon is still working.

I bought the Genie frequency conversion kit as a fix to the military frequency interference I was receiving from the nearby shipyard. My garage door was/is operating on the 390mhz frequency and much like the product description suggests, was operating intermittently and inconsistently. In order to open my door, I had to generally stand directly in front of the door and press the multiple times, and even then if I didn't have it just right, it may or may not have worked. After installing the Kit, I am now able to open my door from as much as 100ft away!!! I can even be in my kitchen and push the button, and walk out to my car (my garage is detached), and the door will be open and waiting. Why couldn't I give this five stars? Like the other reviewers, I feel that this is close to what you need. I was on a budget so I bought this one anyway. You can make it what you need but for $240 should you really have to do that!? First, there is no padding on the faces of the metal plates so when you clamp it to the door tight enough to hold it as you drill it can damage the door... esp with softer woods. Simple fix is to put some thin high density adhesive foam on the plates. Second, the 2-1/8 drill bit is not carbide so dont even think of trying to drill through clean from one side. Also only plan on getting about 10 doors out of the bit that comes with it. To be fair, you cant buy another kit with a carbide bit for less than $400. So use the $160 you save and buy a nice SET of carbide bits! I dont understand why all these ... Read More
