After 15 years of service, my Liftmaster garage door opener finally failed. It started out only lifting the door about half way, then the gear stripped out. I didn't feel like dropping $$$ on a new opener, so I found this kit online. If you are up for the task, this kit does the job well. The instructions are pretty good although not perfect. The only difficult part is removing the roller pins on the main drive shaft and the collar on the worm gear. Make sure you have a punch to remove the pin although I used a nail effectively. If you're not mechanically inclined or don't have the tools, you may get frustrated. After installation, you'll need to tinker with the setting on the door to get it to open and close properly. Total repair time was about 1.5 hrs.

I had searched locally for replacement for my failed unit in town at Home Depot and Lowes, and all they carried were GENIE products. I was mistakingly told I could use the GENIE UNIVERSAL product at Home Depot, but this is incorrect...glad I found this, as it was a direct replacement of the unit I had, set up took all of 10 minutes, and works great now (in fact, it is probably better than the one I replaced, since that one had a very cheap 'connector' for the wire to attach to the units, that would occasionally vibrate loose. This unit has direct wiring into them...Much better !

This product was easy to install,set up and works well. I only wish it had a short audible alarm when the garage door is going up...

I purchased this keyless garage door opener at Menards, and worked all morning trying to program it. But it did not work. I have tried everyway possible, and checked with the manufacturer's recorded instructions, and have almost memorized the procedures. But it still did not work. The instructional video at the maker's website doesn't work. It's been very frustrating, and I finally gave up and returned it to the store. Don't buy it if you want it to work with Genie door opener as promised by this product.

So far I am really happy with this product. Not one false alarm. I have had similar products that were too sensitive; but this one works very well. My spouse really likes it also. No more surprises at the door.

We had to replace the beam kit on our relatively new Sears garage door opener, and this kit worked perfectly at a reasonable price. A life saver, as the beam kit could not be found at any Sears stores in Chicago!

I bought this garage door opener to replace a broken Genie H2000C 1/2 HP opener that was present when I purchased my house. The chamberlain 3/4 hp opener came with all necessary parts for an easy replacement of my existing garage door opener. Being someone who is technically and mechanically savvy, I was not worried about installing the opener. The instructions were clear and concise and the install went off without a hitch. I would put the difficulty of installing this unit at a 2/5, which means that I think just about anyone who has a simple understanding of how to use hand tools could accomplish this task. It's been installed for about 3-4 weeks now and I haven't had a single issue so far. It is a very quiet unit compared to the one in our other garage door.
