This product is what its name implies - and not much more. The 12 x 12 refers to the footprint - the legs don't go straight down from the canopy, they point outwards a bit... so the canopy itself is more like 10 x 10. That said it's still a 2 person operation to put up and take down. In a pinch you can do it with one person, but you might wind up damaging it - I wouldn't recommend it. I found this on sale at Home Depot for about sixty or seventy bucks. For that price this was a good purchase. I bought it mainly for watching our daughter play soccer, but we'll also take it car camping with us. Unfortunately, the instructions are fairly clear that this is for SHADE only - not for rain. This canopy was extremely easy to assemble and it was very sturdy for our party. We left it up overnight and there were no problems. Our only concern was with the amount of shipping charges.

Easy to put together. Hammock netting easily comes off-if the weather is going to be bad, etc. And it is comfortable too. Also, my girlfriend and I only have a very small patio, and two of these fit in comfortably so we can both watch the sunset together. Love this hammock.
