I built my workbench 6 x 2.5 FT. I used 1/2 plywood for the bottom shelf and 3/4 plywood for the middle and work surface. The result is a very strong workbench. Note that the vertical space between shelfs is small (bottom: 11 1/4", middle: 8 1/2") so I modified my workbench by doing the middle shelf halfway (see customer image). I used some galvanized brackets to support this modification. As a result I now have 23 3/4" of vertical clearance on one side of the workbench. This allows me to fit big items like a compressor. I had all the 2x4's and plywood cut at my local home depot which I highly recommend to ensure that the measurement are very exact. My husband took longer than expected to put this together. We made the longest rack suggested, but the weight was too much. We propped it up with some bricks, and it is fine. We used to sets--I'm glad we did, as you will probably find you have more wood than you thought. As a girl who is bad at putting things together, I wouldn't get this. These are great little cloths. They're just the right size for cleaning around the house. The micro fiber picks up dirt really well and gives both glass and stone a nice shine without scratching. I do wish they were available in more colors. I was a bit surprised by the amount of packing material used in shipping these, though. For some reason the shipper (Target) placed them in a box, which was then placed inside a much (3x) larger box, which was then padded out with those plastic air pillows. The outer box and air pillows were completely unnecessary -- a stack of cloths isn't exactly fragile.

Shelflinks rock! Easy to use, even for a wood butcher like me. For about $410 for seven packages of Shelflinks and the lumber, I filled my new garage with sturdy shelves. About the best I couldn've hoped for any other way is maybe four shelves, 48" long. I covered entire walls with shelves. You do need some good spatial awareness to make these work, if you're working around windows, but if you can do Legos, you can do these. You do need a good cordless drill-driver with a spare battery and new bits. Also, you WILL need to lag them into a stud, so a stud finder is recommended.
