True story, I had a Troy-Bilt four-stroke weedeater from one of the home improvement stores that cost around $200 that was impossible to start. I hated it. I had an old unit by the manufacturer this company replaced for many years, and it died. This is something I use infrequently, but need occasionally. The little clippers, while not great, are pretty good, but I went through 3 handles (2 from Amazon and 1 from manufacturer) before I got one I finally knocked on (not slid on). The plugs are at such an angle they don't slide into the socket. I'm afraid to try to take the handle off because it may come off or go back on, but it has to be off to charge (old one charged in the handle). Doesn't work very well in the handle either. It has to be used at an angle so it doesn't clip the grass very well. Had no problems with Amazon or manufacturer customer service.

I brought the Replacement Blade as other reviews said the original blades dulled easy, they haven't for me, I have used them fairly hard- lots of cutting tough grass-and they are staying very sharp. I do put a few drops of oil on them, to keep friction down and gum from building up. I'm very pleased with them.

I trim the trees at the side of my house once every 3-4 years. I went online shopping for a hedge trimmer and found this to be the cheapest. I trusted Amazon.com's decision in putting this product among its merchandize even though it is being sold by another vendor. I received it on time, immediate put it to work and noticed that I need to stop trimming every 5 minutes because the blades which are rubbing the plastic casing causes the plastic to start melting. It is cheap because it is built cheap but it does the job as long as you give it time to cool down every 5 minutes.

Fantastic replacement blades! The American Gardener 3-Inch Cordless Grass Shears were really working hard, hated to get rid of it as the unit itself still worked like new. The blades were no longer cutting through the grass, it was more like tearing the grass and the battery wore down very quickly. Installed these in a few minutes and the shears worked like they did when they were brand new! So at less than 1/4 the price of buying a complete new shears this was an excellent buy.

Couldn't send because box was too bad and not from the shipper. This hedge trimmer sat in some warehouse for years. NEVER AGAIN
