I just assembled this for my new band saw. It went together well. The instructions took a little time to understand, but the parts were all there and went together with no problems. This stand does what it is supposed to do. The levers work fine for setting the brakes or getting things rolling again. I bought it on sale at Rockler for $49.95 and I think it was a great value at that price. I am happy with the choice and it is working very well for me.

Though it arrived in a box that looked like it had been attacked by a really upset grizzly, the work center was in good shape. It is a solid unit that lives up to its ads. I am quite pleased with it overall. The only issue that prevented a 5 rating is that the handle on the end opposite the wheels must be removed so that the material support can be properly adjusted, a minor but irritating design malfunction. This is a great addition for those who must both move their tools around as well as conserve floor space.

These mounts fit both my Makita 10" sliding miter saw and my Delta benchtop planer, allowing me to swap them out as needed. The only downsides are the plastic end caps occasionally pop off and I suspect they are made in China. Another reviewer mentioned HTC being out of business. Out of curiosity, I called the toll free # on their website (www.htcproductsinc.com) and got a a normal "regular business hours" message (called at 22:30 EAS). Does this mean they're in business? Who knows, but at least the phone isn't disconnected. If you have more than one tool that could be used on your PortaMate, I recommend picking up a set of these for each, as it sure speeds tool setup and tear down.

This is a really good quality after-market mobil base for heavy shop equipment. I've used it under a Powermatic #66 table saw so I can use this super saw in a small shop and move it where I need it. The base is very stable and easy to 'park' and lift back onto the casters. Although I don't have a good basis for comparing this to other mobil bases, this seems a great value at under $80 when compared to the Powermatic base at over $200.

I bought several of medium and large sizes. The slightest breeze sends all the covers flying. I bought some relatively cheap .5" neodymium magnets to replace the worthless things that are stitched into the covers. I bought some hem tape from a craft store to repair the removal slits. I do not sew.

The gentleman from Santa Clarita, Calif. is right...if you're thinking the Delta grinder GR275 mounting holes will line up with the pre-drilled holes in this stand, forget it. The only way to use this stand with this particular grinder is to angle the bolts...kind of 'mickey mouse', but it works. Which grinders fit this stand? I have no idea. The adjustable feet are nice for uneven floors. Finish and appearance are satisfactory. Height adjustment is nice & easy for customizing for each person. If you have a heavy duty grinder (8"or larger), and use it alot, I'd recommend a different stand.

The stand is well-made and easy to assemble. The instructions have to be digested first and you need to be alert during assembly, but the final product is exactly what I wanted. The Dewalt scroll saw fits it perfectly and now that it's easier to move, I'll use it more - which is the whole point!
