This is an outstanding laser level. It has its own levelling device and the laser beam is still sharp in the daylight and after fifty feet.

David White makes a good product. This Transit does not have all the bells & whistles, but does a good job laying out nice a grade. Also good for laying out property lines.Easy to setup.

This is actually a returned item but was shown it as "new". The packing was poorly re-packed. The bottom of the body has a clear scratch mark. The battery cover has two latches but one is broken. The latch is a poor design. I believe that's why it was returned. The former owner could not use it. It was the worst experience with Amazon. I will never buy tools from Amazon again.

This laser is not what it is advertised . The ad states that the laser is accurate to within 3/32 of an inch in 100 ft . It is not . It is only accurate to 3/32 of an inch in 30 ft .That is a full 2/3 less then what amazon advertises. This is the information you get when you acctualy recieve the laser from amazon . They also list it as the m2xlt without the detector . That is not the correct model number . When i brought this to amazons attention , they told me since i bought it from one of their merchants they had no liability .

As an engineer, I didn't have need of a highly accurate instrument, but wanted something more durable and accurate than that you'd find at Home Depot or Sears. This David White gun is durable (metal construction), is smooth turning and has a bright, easy to sight through scope. You'd pay twice this much at a surveyors' supply store for a transit of this calibre. My only caveat is that on my scope, the internal focusing carriage was loose on arrival, but this was an easy fix. All in all a good value for the money.
