This is very handy to have in the garden since it fits in your pocket and you can carry pruning shears without the danger of stabbing yourself, but the shears themselves are passable at best. I like being able to open a bag of soil, loosen some roots of a plant I am transplanting or do a quick trim without carrying lots of tools with me, but if you are doing heavy duty pruning or weeding, you are going to want to use a different tool. It gets a 5 stars for concept, but only 3 in execution.

As a Christmas Tree farmer, my pruner is my primary tool. This pruner is a workhorse and the only one that any of our employees will use. In fact, I've never seen another Christmas Tree farmer use anything else. The price means nothing to me, as I've been using the same pruner for many years. Only the blade is changed.

Great pruners - the rotating handle mechanism virtually eliminates sore hands and the dreaded "pinch" when a branch suddenly breaks and the fleshy part of your thumb or palm gets caught. After some heavy pruning this season, these finally gave out after years of service. Absolutely no complaints considering the abuse they took. I'm buying two pairs and dumping my others into the recycle bin for good. Once you've tried these, you won't accept the other junk that's out there, no matter how expensive and what brand name they may have.

I purchased this for my girlfriend who is a florist. She is constantly raving about them, and is upset when she brings it home to garden and forgets to take it back to work.

Easy to use. Very well build. I recommend this unit to people who have to prune trees up to 12 feet high.

Fiskars Softouch Micro-Tip Pruning Snip #9921 This is a great tool. It's sharp, lightweight, and fits comfortably in my hand. Even my husband noticed how much easier it was for me to do the pruning. The only fault I see is the lock that engages sometimes while you're snipping. However, that is easily fixed and doesn't affect my satisfaction with this tool. I liked it so much that I bought one for my best friend.

Once upon a time I had a classic #2 Felco that I scored for free due to it needing a new blade and spring. Less than $15 gave me the industry standard for high quality pruners. That pair mysteriously disappeared about 4 years ago. They were terrific! Since then I've accumulated a few more pruners from Corona, Fiskars, and A.M. Leonard. The A.M. Leonard ones are similar to the #2 Felcos but made in Italy. Recently I was given a "bonus" from my boss to buy a set of Felco pruners, so I picked up a #8 and it is great! I do a lot of pruning on the job, and the ergonomic shape blows the AM Leo and #2 Felcos out of the water. These things are "GREAT", and the price was awsome. I own another pair of these this size, I am not able to use them because I lost them in my neighbors pond. Sooooooooo I had to order another pair. If you are looking for a great set of loppers that WILL do the job, and actually make it fun these are the ones to get. I also have a small hand pair. Have had them for 5 years. Still perform like new. I even bought the small size, and the large size for my 80 year old Mom whom insists on still cutting yard limbs, etc. (which I am proud of her) Guys these would even make a nice Christmas gift for your wife. Just don't tell her I said that. LOL.
