The watch has worked, if only for a brief time, and is a wonderful tool for monitoring heartrate and calories. However, after less than a year, it only works 50% of the time and both button tops on the sides have come off, thereby making it difficult to use the watch for anything other than time. I'm currently looking for a similar watch, different brand, that has the Polar's same features.

When working out, it is helpful to know when I'm approaching my fat burn heart rate or my maximum heart rate. The cardio machines in the gym pick up the signal without the need of the watch. When playing a game like soccer, it is helpful to know if I really put out a good effort. This monitor is the least expensive one which records a maximum heart rate and an average rate through a workout. All the others did less than this, or a lot more which I had no reason to record. I thought this fit the bill for me perfectly, and it works well. On the down side, it has taken me a little bit of time to recognize how to move through the menus with just one button (wait for 3 seconds, hit the button again). Not exactly intuitive.

Protege 5.0 is a eat little computer. Took me like 15 minutes to install, I had plenty of cord from the sensor to the unit, and it works just as described. Nice little size but easy to read. So far its been totally weatherproof too. I recommend this bike computer for anyone interested.

I owned an F11 for roughly three years. I didn't use it during working outs but mostly to track my progress. Eventually, the screen died so I figured that it was the battery. However, the estimate came back with a $140 bill. The PC had died and the transmitter electrodes had rusted. How can this happen if I barely used it? It's a fun but disposable product. Buy only if you are willing to shell out cash for a HR monitor again within a couple of years (or less). Also, if you are a slim person beware of the M-XL transmitter that it comes with. The specs say it is for chest sizes 28" and greater but this stretched out early and was uncomfortable to wear around. Some places will trade the size out to the XS-S for you with the initial purchase - look around.

This is very easy to use, if you buy it with the SD card it's plug and play. It also measure power (watts), but you will need a power sensor, there are some available for this.

I was frankly a little concerned that, despite the product description and picture, the item might not include the elastic strap with the transmitter, since Amazon listed the strap as an item frequently purchased with this item. In case anyone else is concerned, yes, it does come with the elastic strap! The transmitter works well in general, although I've noticed it gives me trouble when running near power lines -- I don't know if anyone has found a way to prevent that yet.

I believe,it is the best cycle computer. It also works on the training roller.

It's a very good compass. It have a strong aluminum cover. The magnifier glass looks very good. It find the direction quickly. Fits very well in my pocket for carrying.
