I got a hold of two of these during a special sale that included this kit free for every 2 AA Maglite flashlight you bought. But it's still a great buy at $5.00. What I like most about these kits are the rubber octagon lens hood, and the lanyard. The lanyard is long enough to be useful, and the rubber hood keeps the flashlight from rolling around when you need to set it somewhere and need the light not to move. I've had a lot of trouble with this in the past, and though it might seem a little pricey for those two items, I wouldn't own a 2 AA Mag without at least the rubber lens protector/hood, and having an extra lens is nice since they do get scratched up pretty easily. This revier will be short. if you're like me and want to be a doctor, you spend half your life in books (not by choice) and the other half catching up on research projects and require a small portable light like this one. the light is not very bright but it gets the job done. i dropped it once and it wouldnt come on anymore. i dropped it again and now it works fine??!! well overall its acceptable, if you want a really good light pay a little more money.

This is a well made convenient lantern and fits the needs for what I wanted it for, which is a general use lantern, without the heat of a kerosene lantern. The nice thing about this is it can be used inside and out. Don't to expect the brightness of a kerosene lantern and I believe you will be happy with it as well.

I have every light made. 3,000,000 watts down to night lights. I have many led light of all sizes and this is the coolest. Great output but wide( which I wanted. I have lasers too. This lights up the woods or your house with the whitest brightest light I Have seen.

Okay, I admit that I am a flashlight (torch, if you are a Brit) junkie, especially LED types. So that's the bias, but that also qualifies me as somewhat of an expert -- well, somewhat. In any event I am very pleased with the build and design of this LED lantern. It is a quality, durable, functional piece of equipment that will last and serve you well. I may even get another one (his and hers when camping). If you can live with the price tag, then it is a good purchase. Even for seldom needed emergency use, a large package of alkaline AA batteries from Costco and one of these lanterns would be a lot safer and more practical than candles. Light wont stay on . After filing and sanding all contact areas it improved a little . I still have to bang it to stay on . very disapointed . Flashlights from a Dollar Store are better .

This flashlight ALWAYS works. when I go hiking I throw this small light in my pack because it always has a fresh charge from being stored in my cars cigarette lighter. We have come down off of a mountain late many times and when my friends flashlights batteries die this always gets us down. Super lightweight, compact, and very bright.

The quality of this product is not what I expected. The candles are really small and don't glow very brightly, even after I replaced the batteries. Each candle takes 3 batteries and at $5 per package that seems a bit expensive. Forget the "blow out" feature. I almost blew out a lung! The wooden tray is a little cheesy too.
