I wanted a rechargeable emergency light that plugged into a socket and doubled as a night light. These are great lights--very bright, good beam size, easy to find. I haven't tried to burn one down to test the battery life yet, so I can't comment on the battery life. My only very minor gripe is that the light covers the unused socket so you can't use either when the light is plugged in. That is not a big deal, though.

This is my favorite LED light. It is very light, reliable, sturdy. It runs off a single AA battery. It has build-in circuitry that converts 1.5 VDC to 5 VDC. Battery run time is excellent. It is a great tool to have next to your bed as an emergency. And it is a great back up lighting for outdoor enthusiast.

Excellent headlamp..very satisfied with performance. Fantastic for lighting up the night in a lightweight wearable headlamp. However, I'm very dissappointed in not comparison shopping around enough. I thought Amazon would always have the best deal. This headlamp is not the newest model and is on clearance at REI for 10$ less than I paid. I will definitely shop around more next time, since the newer model is updated with better bulbs. Considering how bright this headlamp is, the new improved version must be a stunner.

I recently purchased this flashlight for an annual camping trip. I previously had tactical LED flashlight from another company that I bought for $150 about 5 years ago, which was a very good flashlight. Unfortunately, I lost that one and was looking for a replacement. I considered purchasing a similar flashlight that I had before. This is a great little light. It's noticeably brighter than the Maglite 2 AA LED and only a tad less convenient to carry. It will out shine an old Underwater Kinetics 4-C Krypton dive light I've depended on for over 20 years, and battery cost and life is far superior. Clearly this is not a dive light and it clearly is not the equal of the Maglite D cell LED lights either. As with kitchen knives I try to use the right tool for the right job. The Maglite 3 AA LED is a excellent general purpose flashlight that will not cost an arm and a leg to keep in new batteries. You'll be more than satisfied if you buy one.

Of the various LED flashlights I have purchased, this one by far was the best. Carrying case is nothing fancy but takes care of the job as needed. Have yet to need to replace any batteries!

I am pretty disappointed with amount of light coming from this unit. Xeon bulb is a joke. Two built in LED lights are brighter and use 10 times less energy. Get a flash light with LEDs only - 9 of them, 21 of them and you will be able to see in the dark. :-)

I run with this flashlight. It is very bright at 100 lumens and has a nice wrist strap. It only has a 2 hour run time but uses cheaper AA batteries. I would buy another if the price dropped down to the price I paid in October...31.70.

Full disclosure: I do not actually have one. I had one on order on an impulse buy ([...]), then changed my mind after reading some more ([...]). Negative comments were that it was cheaply made, breaks easily, and smells bad. Given the press about cheap Chinese stuff with questionable materials in them, I gave it a pass. When I am out in the mountains or desert I want a light I can depend on. If you want an one for occasional non-critical use around the house or for the kids, its probably for you. If you need a reliable unit for rustic camping etc., you should probably consider a higher quality item.
