This little thing is really brite! It will replace my flashlight which will now be my back-up. It has three brightness settings and a super long throwing boost setting for 20 seconds and the run time on each setting is great. It has a diffuser lens for close work at nite and spreads out into a wide angle. Its well made and will serve my hunting needs well. I highly recommend it!

Early this summer I added 2-AA and 2-C Maglite LED flashlights to my hurricane kit. They performed exceptionally well for me over a very stressful four days without power during and after Hurricane Ike. The 2-AA model amazed me with being everything I needed to get things done 90% of the time. I slept with it on my belt for four nights and it was on my belt during daylight hours too. The tendency for it to fall out of its holster can be solved with a heavy rubber band looped a couple of times around the sheath to add tension. For a week after my power was restored I continued to carry that little light on my belt, because my friends or neighbors power might not have been restored and it was easy to carry and handy to have. This MagLITE, as are all Mags I own, is a great flashlight. It's built like a brick and either the LED or the krypton bulb will emit a very bright beam.

I love this thing. Very bright. Pivoting head is better than the dewalt version. Will shine all day with a fresh battery. Only fault....NO Belt clip. The clip should come with it, as a gift, for choosing milwaukee over dewalt. Other than that it's a great buy.

I use this penlight everyday at work. This light is very bright. This is a great neuro assessment tool. Use it like a pen to check your patient's Babinski reflex. Great for checking your patient's pupils. Use it length-wise on your patient's nailbeds to check for response to light pain. Additionally if you work long nights like I do, this is a great tool to check on your patients without turning on the lights unnecessarily. I use this to check foley and chest tube output in the dark. Are you in the ER? Have a psych patient sleeping that you need to check on? Shine this high intensity low spread light on your patient's chest all the way from the door to observe the rise and fall of their chest without waking them up. I found this flashlight on Amazon for about $60.00 cheaper than retail. I got it quick and it is exactly what I ordered. The flashlight is a great light. Time will tell how it stands up to everyday use, but as of now, I am very happy with the purchase.

Frankly, for something that costs more than 50 bucks, I didn't expect this to be made in China. However, it appears to be solid light...fair throw, and a nice spill overall. I suppose we'll see how long it lasts. If your job depends on it, get a Surefire. If this is for leisurely activities (hiking, biking, etc.), you're all set.

I gave this 2 stars because it is a nicely built flashlight. However, it is a flashlight, and the purpose of a flashlight is to shine light onto things so you can see...at this, the Solitaire performs poorly. Even with a fresh battery, it have a weak beam. It's simply not worth it, even for half the price. It just doesn't work well as a flashlight. I've had this light for 5 years now, and I've never used it because it's so bad. It's the only flashlight I own that I don't use. Thankfully, it was only a Christmas gift.
