I have used the Medalist for five rounds now, and I'm very happy with the results. On the first outing I was having the same difficulty with stability that others have reported. I found it a bit inconvienient to have to rely on bracing against the cart, especially since there were cart-path-only restrictions in place. Being an advanced amature photographer, I've often used a mono-pod to support my cameras. I gave it a try with my Medalist and it proved to be the ideal solution. The pod with Medalist attached, slips easily into a club slot in my bag, but I need to be careful about slinging the bag around, or letting it drop. I attached the case, using a lanyard, to the mono-pod, and slip the case off and on the Medalist, just as I would a club cover. This offers some protection, but the ... Read More
I mounted the scope on my Marui MP5A5 and played many day and night games with it. Love the 4 differnet reticles and ease of use and sighting in. It works as expected and well worth the $$. The only thing that is not really a con but could have gotten it 5 stars is the reticle could be brighter. Night games as awesome when the brightness is set to 1 (out of 7). I found that during day games with sunny weather, even when on 7, it is hard to see the reticle.
I read the other reviews and they are right. For the price, these are great and they do not weigh to much. I am small and that was a concern of mine. I did not want to have the binoculars on a tripod all the time & these work pefect to star gaze or nature watch.
I've returned from a River Barge Excursion (8 days on the Ohio & Mississippi Rivers), and I used my Canon IS binoculars ALL the time. I purchased additional 123 Photo batteries, anticipating I would 'use up' the original battery from constant use, but so far haven't made a battery change.
I did manage to lose one of the eyepiece caps, and I plan to contact Canon to see if I can purchase a set of replacement caps. I also have / use a Canon Powershot S5 IS digital camera, and the lens cap is tethered to the neckstrap, which is a very convenient place to 'put' the lens cap while using the camera. I would like to see Canon design a similar 'tethering' for their binocular eyepiece caps.
It isn't easy to describe these glasses or their capabilities. One has to try them and see what everybody is talking about. I have never heard one word of negativity about them whenever I allow someone else to try them. You can't go wrong with this purchase.
Great value for a compact binocular. Excellent image quality. Its very light and compact and has neoprene case. It has diopeter plus eye relief with twist out eye cups. Wish it had slimmer profile but love the UV high quality lens!
I've had the product for a month but am waiting to see if it breaks when I drop it. Had 2 Barska monoculars and they broke very readily on dropping so I'm trying this one to see if it's more durable. Without question it focus's better than the Barskas. Sooner or later I will drop this thing.
