Finally had a chance to use it. I took it to a concert. The weight is very light (great!) and with it zoomed out, it functioned like normal binoculars. When zoomed in, any movement you make gets enhanced by X24. If you can brace yourself against something steady to view a zoomed in object this is great. Otherwise normal movements make the 24X feature unusable. Finally if you wear glasses you will need to continually take them off to view through the binocular. Not a big deal, just annoying. Adding image stabilization to this product would be awesome!

I already had a 20-60x field scope with a 65mm objective lens, but found it wanting in early evening lower light (often when bears and wolves become more active), so was looking for a lower cost option. After a fair amount of research, this scope seemed to be the ticket. We have had it out on a number of trips and it works well. The key element is a very stable tripod for it. When one is at 75x magnification, a little bit of anything can make a lesser tripod shake, which means the image isn't too good, either. We haven't been on an outing where others had high dollar scopes, too, but our other scope in decent light held it's own. This one is taking in so much more light, it's no comparison better.

This tri-pod is ok. Not great and not bad. If you use a semi-heavy camera on it, it's hard to balance your camera/camcorder on it.

The optics on these binoculars seem to work fine but they lose 1 star each for the cheap zoom dial and the twist up/down eyecups. The plastic ring that operates the zoom feels cheap and fragile. The eyecups are a good idea that was executed poorly. Instead of being soft rubber eye cups that you can put up to your face they are made like plastic lens caps that have a 1/2 inch hole cut in them. They twist up and down to change the focal length by about 1/4 inch but there is nothing to keep you from accidently scratching your eyes with the rough edge of the hole cut in the cup.

I'm an avid golfer, and I bought the "hunter's" version of the Bushnell rangefinder by mistake; intending to buy the "pinseeker" version. Based on the reviews, and researching the elite 1500 at Bushnell's web site, I was convinced the pinseeker and bullseye technology are identical. I therefore kept the hunter's version, being too lazy to go through the return process. On the course today, I never missed a pin using the bullseye setting. Occasionally, I would get the background yardage for a second, and then the flag setting would kick in. I could also easily mark the distance to the 150 post for driving purposes, or, on par 5s, hit the flag distance (which was a breeze), and I could backout that distance by 100 yards to get the perfect lay up. I have a Bushnell Binoculars 20 x 50; this adapter works fine. Only screw the adapter to the binoculars and use them in a tripod.

I normally wear glasses for distance...I don't need them when using these...Everything is always perfectly in focus--instantly--no knobs or adjustments to mess with. Great wide angle for sporting events, 10X power brings everything in real close... Yes, I agree with the folks who claim these won't focus on things within a few feet (using them at the Rose Bowl, the effective limit seems to be about 15-20 rows in front of me or closer), but who uses binoculars to look at things close to you? At the Rose Bowl, my seats are in Row 40 and, from where I sit, these are incredible...I can follow the referees' first down measurements on the field almost down to the number of chain links...But, again, what really makes these is the lack of any required adjustment and the uncanny way they instantly adjust ... I own the older version of these so I thought this would be a safe bet to give my bird watching sister for Christmas. When she tried them out she complained of a half moon shaped flare in the lower left corner that comprised about 1/3 of the field of view. This was evident any time the binoculars were pointed within 90 degrees of the sun. My older Nikon binoculars do not exhibit this if pointed in the exact same direction. She tried two copies of these (we paid the shipping cost for both returns to B&H)and I am looking for another comparable set in a different brand.
