As a physical therapist and a person who suffers from plantar fascitis, I searched the web looking for what I thought biomechanically would do the trick to keep my foot dorsiflexed (toes up) with slight toe extension and offer an adjustable angle at the ankle. I thought the Healwell night splint fit my criteria. Unfortunately I didn't adequately take into consideration another HUGE factor: COMFORT.
While my foot is average for a woman my size, my calf is pretty thick and the top strap just barely had enough velcro to fasten. The ankle strap is too thin. It is VERY uncomfortable and it does NOT properly position your heel into the splint.
