If you are looking for a cheap and very light use bottle... this one works. If you are looking for a quality workhorse bottle... this is NOT it. The quality of the screw cap ring is bad. There aren't enough threads to really get the top on tight. It either spins or leaks slightly. The tinted paint layer is thin and does chip/scratch pretty easy with typical use. They are made in China if that is a concern for you. Save your money and buy a Sigg bottle for the same kind of bottle but much higher quality. Or a Klean Kanteen. I own both and they are 10x the water bottle. I have four children under the age of 8 that used these bottles and they just don't really hold up like the Sigg or Klean Kanteen.

I bought a couple of these for my husband to use on his bicycle instead of using plastic bottles. The theory of the design is great... execution... not so great. The quality of the stainless steel is lower than many other bottles. They are much thinner steel which causes the bottles to have issues with cold expansion. I put ice water in the bottle and the mouth of bottle expands to the point where the cap doesn't stay on. It just pulls right off. The threads of the screw top are not deep enough or enough period. It needs to have at least 1-2 more threads for the cap to go on tightly. It just spins loose if you try to tighten it. So it leaks. i don't think the after taste from this bottle can be a heathely thing.after trying many cleaning methods the taste and smell of metal was still present, i through mine in the trash after 2 uses,

We have a store-bought New Wave bottle and love it, but were very disappointed by these. The lids are very poorly made and when we asked for replacements, we were sent the exact same lids, which also don't work.

When I ordered my stainless steel Enviro water bottle, it came with a sports cap that was plastic and basically 'crappy!.' I was disappointed with the quality of the cap, but had seen this blue replacement cap on a friends bottle and knew this was a much better option. Pros: Cap seals tight and the loop top allows me to attach a clip so that I can take it with me hands free if necessary. Cons: Because the threaded neck seals down into the bottle, you cannot fill it all the way to the top. If you do, when you screw the cap down into the neck, the cap will push the excess water out of the bottle. I purchased this for a 1-liter New Wave Enviro water bottle. It does NOT work on that water bottle, it is too small and the threads are completeley different. It fits a Klean Kanteen bottle, NOT New Wave Enviro. Have no idea how to return this, I suspect I'm out the money.
