We used this to drive 600 miles at about 75 mph, and had no problems. We bought the tie downs that come recommended and they held it down great, even though it was not completely full. We also bought the bars that come recommended, but they didn't work right and we didn't end up needing them, as the luggage rack on our car was fine and the extra tie-downs were plenty to keep the load secure. We didn't drive through any rain so I can't speak to the water-proofness, but the design seems to be adequate to keep everything dry.

I was looking for an inexpensive two-bike rack that would fit both a Saturn sedan and a VW Beetle. While this item was initially appealing, I wasn't sure if it would work for both, very different vehicles. I first checked the Allen Website, which lists all of their products and which vehicles they fit. However, my Saturn wasn't listed. I emailed the company and they responded quickly with their recommendation. So, 5 stars for Allen customer service! And 5 stars for the bike rack! It is super easy to install and folds up nicely to fit in the trunk. Both bikes fit snugly and securely on the rack. You will drive with confidence knowing your bikes are secured with this product. Highly recommended!

A great 5 bike Hitch. I was a little nervous purchasing at first because of one reviewer saying the hitch sat too low on their car. Previousely we've been carrying our bicycles in a hitch mounted tray on our Honda Odyssey. Love my Odyssey but the only complaint on the car is it does sit too low, and the tray goes straight out from my hitch about 3' and it was allways bottoming out. I wanted to avoid this. The Allen rack only protrudes about 8" or so and is 8" above the ground. I had the rack since May and still have it on the car and it never bottomed out yet. Now the rack itself is very strong I have had 5 bicycles on it many times, 2 adults, two children 16"s and a childs with training wheels. Awesome product. Prior to purchasing Allen Bike Rack - I had a Schwinn Rack that wobbled all over the place and was difficult to move the arms up/down and even a pain to tilt away from the tailgate of my truck. The Allen is well built and to tilt the arms up/down and to drop it away from the tailgate is a breeze. The other bonus is the strapping mechanism - much nicer than the Thule since there's no rubber to tear/rip over time.

I purchased this bar for an intended trip. I have a GIANT hybrid and my wife a TREK hybrid. While I was a bit apprehensive it proved me wrong. Not one problem from PA to Myrtle Beach via Jacksonville NC to see our daughter and then straight back. Over 1,100 mile and this was the first time we ever took the bike anywhere!

My old carrier suspended bikes from the crossbar. I got a semi-recumbent and my wife got a woman's step through style. Neither would work well on the old carrier. This hitch mount rack is sufficiently adjustable to accommodate both with security. I love it.

We used this to store a whole lot of Baby items....pack n play, strollers, booster seat, floates and whatever other items we could fit in there for our trip from NJ to Florida. We drove through rain and NOTHING was wet!!!. I could not believe it! I did not pack clothes for fear that it would get wet but on the way back we pack this bag with everything that we could fit. Great purchase for a GReat price!

The organizer fits in the rear space of our BMW sportwagon very nicely. the adjustable spaces in the organizer are easy to configure, and stand up well to varying loads. good product, but a little pricey.
