Everlast, but made in China!!?? The platform board was broken in half. It was made of some kind of crappy presswood (basically a step above cardboard). The rest of the set had "cheap" written all over it. Spend the extra dough and buy American made (if you can even find American made anymore)...

At first I thought the swivel was cheap because the speed bag did not rebound very well. I had to pound on the speed bag just to get it in a somewhat moderate speed, but after buying 2 different swivels (one similar as in the boxing gym I train in) I realized it wasn't the swivel but the round wooden platform itself. It is made of cheap, low quality compressed wood (if it is even wood). I tried a different platform at Sport Chalet and it was definitely much smoother and rebounded like it should. It is a little more than twice the price, but definitely worth it. It is the EVERLAST ADJUSTABLE SPEEDBAG PLATFORM ASIN:B001B88VXI which Amazon also carries.

Wow! I love this series. I have both DVD's beginner and advanced. If you are an at home excersizer and kickboxing is your thing this is a MUST for you. Boxing done right. Michael goes through EVERYTHING you need to know from hand wrapping, stance, and form. He shows you how to be the trainer and the trainee. It was like the light went off in my head. I own a lot of kickboxing DVD's. I usually pop them in and just go. I think that this series is SO important because it breaks down everything that you need to know in order for you to get a more effective workout. I was able to apply everything I learned from this series to my other kickboxing DVD's and it helped me to workout much more efficiently. I mean this guy REALLY knows what he's talking about. I expected this to be a little more stable; when you kick/punch the arms, the entire pole swings around. No need for cushioning on the pads; they don't stay still anyway. It's still a decent piece of equipment, and doesn't take up much room. I'll figure out how to deal with the swinging arms, but I'm not crazy about them.
