I've used Nalgene bottles in the past for hiking, but I don't hike much anymore. I needed a bottle to take water to work and some colleagues have been using Klean Kanteen for a while. They liked theirs, so I thought I'd give them a try. At first I was looking at the brushed stainless, but it always gives me a chill -- as if I were biting down on aluminum foil. I purchased two of these bottles in May of 2008 with the stainless steel caps. We were very pleased with them and in August I purchased another. Although the third bottle was more than 20% less than when I made the first order, the quality of the bottle has degraded by at least 50%. It was immediately obvious upon opening the package that this was a much cheaper steel. It is thin, light-colored and rough. The inside of the older version is polished and smooth while this one is dull and hard to clean. My husband convinced me it was still good or else I would have returned it on the spot. I have been trying to find a BPA free water bottle that had a built-in straw and this one is perfect. I really dislike having to tilt my head back to get a drink. It's especially irritating when driving the car or bicycling. With this bottle I don't have to take my eyes off the road to satisfy my thirst. Good product!

If you are looking for a cheap and very light use bottle... this one works. If you are looking for a quality workhorse bottle... this is NOT it. The quality of the screw cap ring is bad. There aren't enough threads to really get the top on tight. It either spins or leaks slightly. The tinted paint layer is thin and does chip/scratch pretty easy with typical use. They are made in China if that is a concern for you. Save your money and buy a Sigg bottle for the same kind of bottle but much higher quality. Or a Klean Kanteen. I own both and they are 10x the water bottle. I have four children under the age of 8 that used these bottles and they just don't really hold up like the Sigg or Klean Kanteen.

I bought a couple of these for my husband to use on his bicycle instead of using plastic bottles. The theory of the design is great... execution... not so great. The quality of the stainless steel is lower than many other bottles. They are much thinner steel which causes the bottles to have issues with cold expansion. I put ice water in the bottle and the mouth of bottle expands to the point where the cap doesn't stay on. It just pulls right off. The threads of the screw top are not deep enough or enough period. It needs to have at least 1-2 more threads for the cap to go on tightly. It just spins loose if you try to tighten it. So it leaks. I use this cap with the KK bottle most of the time. The sports top is convenient when moving and when in vehicles that lack good cup holders. It attaches to the bottle neck via a plastic loop. If I want to drink from the mouth of the bottle instead, I just unscrew the cap and let it hang from the side so that I don't lose it.

I used my ice cream ball for the 1st time tonight. Took me 22 minutes from start to finish. Fortunate that my icemaker makes the half moon cubes and all I had to do was dump them in. I added ice about half way thru and stirred the ice cream at that time, and got it off the sides of the container. Carefully .. not a lot of room and it can splash. Just wandered around the house a bit and when at the computer, moved it around with my foot. Ashamed to say that I ate the entire batch ... it was great!

You can jumprope! This is a durable jump rope, worth the money for its sturdy construction that does not add extra weight. Weighted jump ropes are great when needed, but when not, this works just fine. It's pretty long, to accommodate even the tallest of jumpers, but works just as well for anyone.
