I'm a complete yoga novice who just started classes and needed a mat. After reading many reviews, I decided to purchase this mat based on the number of happy customers and the low price. I liked the wide range of colors and the inexpensive mat bag offered by the same company. So far, I'm very satisfied with the quality, size, degree of stickiness, but my only small complaint is that the mat is very stinky. After unpacking it, I did hang it outside for a week, then I washed it with lavender liquid soap and rinsed it with a hose. When it dried, the smell seemed to be gone but when I unrolled it at my first class, that plasticy smell was back! So I'm not storing the mat rolled up in the bag now, hoping the stink will eventually go away. Others in my yoga class have commented how much they like ... Read More

Yogitoes mat is great for yoga practices in heated studios. It helps to dampen the towel where your hands and feet will rest in downward dog, but most of the time you'll sweat enough where it won't be an issue. No problems with colors bleeding, but I do wash it in cold and air dry. Machine drying is NOT recommended. Overall, a great purchase and one I'm very happy with.

Very comfortable even for the most difficult poses. Doesn't slip even on tile and hardwood!

I'm slightly disappointed with this. My hands tend to get sweaty and slip while in certain yoga positions (down dog, etc.), and I had hoped this mat would alleviate that, but it doesn't. My hands and bare feet slip on this too. I wear weight lifting gloves now to prevent slipping. I still use the mat as it helps to somewhat cushion my body and my lower back, but would not purchase another like it. It may work better on a bare floor than on carpet. There are 2 of these in a local recreation center where I also workout and they are fine there.

I've searched for the perfect mat for a while now. It didn't have to be cute or pink I just wanted a mat that lasted longer than 6 months. The mats I was buying would begin to flake and by the end of class would end on my skin. Embarassing!!! It doesn't make any sense for me to buy enviromentally friendly mats anymore because I now have 6 unusable mats in my garage. A little research brought me to the Manduka Black mat. I have high expectations for this mat. I don't have any complaints really. I think I need to break it in a little more. Too soon to tell whether or not I'll shred this one too. Only time will tell....

These cork blocks are so much nicer than the foam ones, and they're environmentally friendly. Just as important though is these are sturdier, you'll feel a lot more supported in your poses, less shaky and uncertain.

I like the mat. Feels soft under my feet when I'm doing Yoga. I do wish I had gotten a wider one.
