Sporting Goods : Speedo Watershed Body Chamois

After going on a 3 month backpacking trip, I'm so grateful that I had this little towel. I didn't have to worry about drying times and could just pack it. A few bad things about it: it sometimes can smell a little funky, but that's quickly cured by just running it through a washing machine; also, it can sometimes get some strange marks on it. Overall though, it's a great investment for the luggage space challenged.

Having taken up doing laps almost every day at the pool, I wanted to add something to my workout: These fins must be the most comfortable ones out there for the pool. They are compact (easy to slip in to your swim bag), have a soft, very comfortable, adjustable ankle strap, and they do, indeed, ZIP... (no false advertising here). Regarding the size, I am an 8 to 81/2 and I got the medium size. They fit fine and have not come off while swimming. The adjustment of the ankle strap is easily done, even while in the pool with them on. With regard to performance, they have actually helped me concentrate on improving my kicks and I still feel I get a good workout; I just glide along a lot faster.

Sporting Goods : FINIS Zoomers Fins

I have been using the blue Finis Zoomer for three months, and found that they have greatly improved my swimming. Within a couple of weeks, I doubled my number of laps because I am using more leg power for propulsion, which is where most of the muscle is. Therefore, I am getting a more balanced work out with these fins.

I spent a week in Hawaii with these fins, using them for both boogie boarding and snorkeling. In both cases they worked great, providing enough propulsion for long periods of snorkeling while providing the ease of movement needed for boogie boarding. They were reasonably comfortable too. I noticed that someone who had an older pair had trouble with the heel strap staying tight - it kept loosening. That wasn't a problem with my new pair. It may be something that happens when they get a bit older.

Sporting Goods : Speedo Optimus Swim Training Fins (Blue/Orange)

These training fins are perfect for swim class and leg muscle building. Get the most out of your laps! Sturdy, true-to-size, and you can't beat the Speedo brand. I wear a size 9.5 and I purchased the "Large" size. They don't squeeze my feet at all and fit perfectly. They also hold up well, even after 3X per week in Chlorinated water.

Sporting Goods : Churchill MAKAPUU Floating Swim Fins

Churchill fins are named for Owen Churchill, the man who invented swim fins prior to WW2. The first pair I ever saw was in the very early 1950s. In those days they were green and one of the few types of fin available, so they were very popular with divers. Since then the selection of fins has expanded dramatically and Churchills fell out of favor with the diving fraternity. The knock on them is that they don't deliver enough thrust. Up to a point, it's true; it just depends on what you use them for. If you are competing for the world championship in spearfishing, there are better choices. However, if you are doing pool training or light duty snorkeling, they can be a very good choice. Their big advantage is comfort. In my experience, they will not tire a weekend athlete the way stiffer fins ... Read More

I bought these red fins from the sports shop last month and took them back....the size was perfect, but they are very stiff and gave me the most PAINFUL blisters ever. Plus, certain parts of the rubber just jab right into the bone of my feet, making the swimming experience extremely painful.I even bought fin socks...didn't help...
I used to swim competitively, and bought these because it was the model recommended for speed and racing purposes, but I used them more for straight lap swimming and fast kicking....maybe the blue ones are more comfortable, but I know that for me, these red ones just killed my feet.I guess the're just meant to be worn for 5 minutes (or 1 lap) in the water, or something...
