I bought this as a gift, and have actually used it after going shooting with the receipient. It is a great compact universal kit. The case is not as rugged as I would have liked, but if you don't take it in the field, it will work fine. Would buy for myself.

You get what you pay for. This kit is what I would consider entry level quality. It will work fine as a "knock around kit" you throw in with the rest of your camping gear. It is not something I would buy as an heirloom or give as a gift. Brushes are of decent quality but are not labeled so if your kit shows up like mine did with the brushes scattered about in the box, you'll get to do some sizing and sorting. Bottom line: Functional cleaning kit at a cheap price.

In the description and reviews it says that it works fantastic as a water-resistant/proofing product on synthetic fabrics. I applied it 3 times onto my backpack, making sure that each time the Nikwax was totally dry, and then dribbled water on it to test it. Water soaked in everytime, it didn't even form droplets or run off. I had high hopes for this product because I didn't want to go buy another day pack but I was sadly disappointed. So I got a rain cover instead.

I could not get the product to stay on. It would turn off before you finished sighting in. The on/off mechanism is really unreliable. When you could get it to work the beam was not really strong enough for any significant distance in daylight. My summary: It's just a waste of time and money. A box of bullets works much better and will work every time.
