This is a very nice product. Lots of bells and whistles for an affordable price. One minute crank will run radio for about 20 min. Durable also and easy to use crank.

Ok. It's my fault. But these manufactures never tell you JUST how much you can safetly wind a crank device. So, I "pushed" this lantern a little too much (maybe 10-15 minutes of intermittent cranking), and I 'blew' the circuity.

This is a well made convenient lantern and fits the needs for what I wanted it for, which is a general use lantern, without the heat of a kerosene lantern. The nice thing about this is it can be used inside and out. Don't to expect the brightness of a kerosene lantern and I believe you will be happy with it as well.

Okay, I admit that I am a flashlight (torch, if you are a Brit) junkie, especially LED types. So that's the bias, but that also qualifies me as somewhat of an expert -- well, somewhat. In any event I am very pleased with the build and design of this LED lantern. It is a quality, durable, functional piece of equipment that will last and serve you well. I may even get another one (his and hers when camping). If you can live with the price tag, then it is a good purchase. Even for seldom needed emergency use, a large package of alkaline AA batteries from Costco and one of these lanterns would be a lot safer and more practical than candles. Works as advertised. A couple nits to pick: 1. It's almost impossible to see the settings on the switch on top of the lantern if it's dark outside. 2. It collapses a bit too easily. If you barely touch the top, then it collapses. Why no catch to hold it open? 3. It can be left on AND closed, which would drain the batteries (my wife did this to "turn it off").

What I expected was something the size of an old camping lantern. What I received was the size of a can of soda that put out lots of clear light. This is a positive step forward in your collection of camping gear.

I purchased one of these, and the first time out of the box I tried to spread the legs, only to find one of them snapped off very easily. It turns out that one of them is a stationary leg (not described in the instructions), and does not move. It has a pin that extends through it, locking it in place. The other two legs do move, but this should definitely be explicitly expressed in the instructions -- which it is not. Other than that, the can stand seems to work fine, I am just disappointed in the instructions.

This is a great small item. Great for backbacking when weight and size are an issue. I get pleanty of light with the back reflector either up or down. Along with the long battery, I couldn't come up with anything that would improve this product. A great buy that I would reccomend.

Mine came defective and drove me nuts for awhile cause I would follow the instructions exactly and the light would stay on for like 1 min or 2 then start dimming to a worthless glow. Finally I just upped and bought one at Wal-mart the same exact thing and it worked fine. So as with all electrical stuff beware ordering them on internet as they can come beat up and may be a hassle to return. But Amazon has good customer service so your covered chief. Thank You Amazon .. never have so many owed so much to so few....
