We are native English Speakers with an Autistic son. We got an idea to try this to improve his processing skills as they relate to communication and it is helping! He is 6 years old, and had a good vocabulary already, but doesn't really communicate well and when he does there are long delays between responses. Rosetta Stone V3 English Level 1 & 2, is working great. He loves "playing" with it on the computer. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that when they break down words to teach it in parts they don't use root word, plus ending, nor syllabic breaks. They break it up into pieces that make no sense to me as a BA English grad. I worry a teeny bit that he'll look poor syllabic construction, but his larger problem is the actual communication so I'm just thrilled it's helping him. ... Read More

If you're using Windows Vista DO NOT buy Rosetta Stone. If you're paying over $300.00 for a program it should install seamlessly I spent hours installing all the updates contacted Rosetta Stone Tech support over six times. They even sent me TWO new CD'S.The program would still not install. I wonder when Rosetta Stone will wise up and update their program. I'm certain all new computers will come pre-installed with Vista.

Wow, all of the reviews are going to tell you that this program is the s#$t. But why pay this much when I could be in a community college learning more for the same if not less price? Not only that, the lessons are (to create a word) stupidly short? How the h*&l am I to learn a language when the lessons are only teaching me nine different ways of saying "Esta es bocadillos?" What a waste of my hard earned money. Que es esto? Ohhh, s^&t I could have learned from my high-school spanish teacher, that's what.
