I just finished installing QuickBooks 2009. I have all kinds of software installed on my computer, some costing as little a few bucks to as much as several thousand and none of them require me to CALL A SERVICE CENTER to register my software! All of the information I provided OVER THE PHONE could have been done on line more accurately. It's a joke to think customers are going to be OK with this; I don't want to take my time to call Intuit to just answer their marketing questions. I really want to find a good alternative to QuickBooks; with all the complaints I read about this program and now this, I'm really motivated to start a search for a better accounting software.

this is the first time i've used quicken and i think it's terrible. it picks and chooses what transactions to download from my accounts and is NOT user friendly. i consider myself pretty computer savvy and able to problem solve, but this program is confusing and does not come with an instruction manual. worst purchase i've ever made.

Quicken Home and Business 2009 is perfect for any small business. I manage properties, and this has proven to service these accounts above and beyond. It is excellent for preparation of the data that you need to prepare your tax returns, and doing on-line banking. On-line banking without Quicken Home and Business still leaves you with a lot of work to do at the end of the year. I have and will continue to recommend this product. Try it, you will like it!

I too have experienced downloading bank transactions with quicken premier 2009 XP version. It would help if reviewers would indicate the operating system they are using. Are the problems occuring with both vista and XP?? it is not clear. I went back to quicken premier 2007.

I purchased QuickBooks Pro 2008 several months ago, because it is supposed to be the best out there for small businesses. I have been trying since then to get it to work -- without any success. Each time I tried an installation, something else would go wrong. I would give up in frustration, uninstall and clean my registry to remove all traces, and set it aside to try again later, only to find yet another problem the next time I attempted an install. I am not a computer novice... I have been in tech support in the past and consider myself a pretty savvy user. I've tried to install the program on two different Vista computers (it is supposed to be 100% Vista compatible), and have received everything from .NET errors to the inability of the install to find Flash 8 on my system (I did have Flash 9 at ... I bought the Quicken Starter Edition because I thought it was replacing the least expensive Basic Edition this year. But Intuit failed to indicate that it was disabling the ability to accept data from earlier years. For that you have to upgrade to the more expensive Deluxe Edition. So the Starter Edition is absolutely useless for a long-time Quicken user. The only thing good I can say about this is that Intuit returned my money and I did not even have to return the CD. That deserves the one star I am giving this product.

If you are updating a previous Quicken file be sure to back up your data on a CD before installing this version on your computer. It has serious bugs and can wipe out all or part of your data. Intuit is issuing update on this version online to correct the problems but it may not correct the flaws.

When I got started in building furniture for my customers I was doing all of my finances the in cash. Over the years I got better expose with my work I needed a better way of keeping track of my money, so I went shopping and found QuickBooks Simple Start 2007. I've been updating for the last few years, and then I updated my computer to Vista and needed software that was compatible with Vista that is when I went with QuickBooks Simple Start 2009. Not much of a change from the previous years, but I see a difference with the Vista computer.

We have just gotten in to the rental business & this software is great! It automatically gets the tax deductable items marked for tax time. It produces tax paperwork so all we have to do is print it out during tax season & if we do our taxes ourselves, it transfers the info to Turbo Tax. We also keep track of our personal accounting with this. I highly recommend Quicken Rental Property Manager for anyone who is in rental business. This software is very easy to use, as well.

Good basic copy of Quickbooks. However, be aware that it is for beginners with the program. It wont read your old Quickbooks files (can't be used as an upgrade from Quickbooks Basic).
