I used this software to map a trip across the country from New York to Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon, and a couple more stops. If your stops are near major roads then this software usually works. But if your stops are off the major roads then the software doesn't know if it's routing you on a paved road or a dirt road. The software routed me on a dirt road for 46 miles. So 20 miles from my last stop I had to come up with my own route after running into the dirt road. I ended up having to drive back to where I started from. On another occasion the software directed me to a road, but there was no road. The software comes in useful when you've missed a turn. Worst software purchase ever! After having a useful Psion directions program when I lived in London 6 years ago, I thought I should get something similar for my Palm Zire 72 now I'm in Seattle. I even thought there might be some improvements in the last few years, especially with Palm being the market leader...WRONG!! If I type in my (unique!) Seattle address, it gives me 3 options - all of which are incorrect! It defaults to one 30 blocks north of me! Then practically every address I have looked for (friend's houses, restaurants, etc.) have been incorrect too! Sometimes addresses even come up on the maps and directions as "@#8&%%!??#@ Avenue"!! Ive used it my car with laptop and GPS on a variety of road trips MN, TX, LA, UT, MO, AR and gotten myself into and out of many situations without a hitch, except for being towed out of a bayou in Louisiana twice but that was my bad not the softwares. This software will allow you to get to places that others wouldnt be able to find. Ive also used this software to map the entire Salt Lake City Utah region from Ogden all the way to Payson for a telecom company that was using the info for a Wi-Fi positioing service and this NG product was dead on. This job required driving every residential and commercial street in the the Utah metropolitan area and it was flawless, and only off where new developments were being constructed. This product does not even deserve one star but you can't go any lower. Everything said by the other reviewers is true. The interface is bad. The maps are not very good compared to other programs and they print worse than they look, especially if they are rendered on a b&w laser instead of a color printer. I went back to using my 5 year old Delorme program that is vastly superior to this junk. The PDA downloads to a Palm unit are virtually useless. For example, to see a street name, you have to click on a street which brings up a label. A few labels clutter up the screen and to get rid of them, you have to delete them. Little detail is shown and the interface is inefficient. If you pan around the map display, it does not bring in other portions of the map so that capability is useless. The ... Read More

They promised "the most robust data management solution that allows sync and individualizing your mobile phone", well let me tell you this Susteen staff: I DO NOT THINK SO!!! Purchasing DataPilot has been the worst mistake I've made since I purchased Glitter on DVD 3 years ago. The only phone that actually worked was my Motorola V3 and that because, after several emails, Susteen "Support Staff" replay me with an extremely weird "How to make the software recognize the phone" email. I bought the software to calculate mileages between two points. I operate a trucking business and drive myself. I want to calculate the distance say, between Raleigh, NC and Philadelphia, PA. I have a 1 gig compact flash card I bought to store the map data on. It was hopeless to even think about loading the east coast onto the memory card. I sat there for an hour highlighting the entire east coast(selecting blocks). I had 21,000 blocks selected. The desktop worked all night trying to save this file. I never did get it to work. DeLorme acts like this software is so versatile. The object of using a Handheld computer for mapping is to store mapping info and perform useful functions in the field as they may arise. This is the worst mapping software I have ever used (and I have used most of those available). There is a position error of 200-500 feet everywhere but on major thoroughfares and DeLorme Tech support (???) can only say it's a problem with the map translations (???). I notice there is no 2007 version! I have found the same position errors in their laptop version. Microsoft Streets & Trips is dead-on in position everywhere... DeLorme should be totally embarassed since their only products are in this field! And they charge a lot more than Microsoft does... pathetic!
