Purchased this product with the sincere hope of transfering VHS tapes and casette tapes to digital format. The product doesn't work on any of the computers I have tried (upwards of 7 systems). The customer support is rude and frankly not helpful. Their stock answer is that the system does not meet the operating requirements of the software, yet they have no useful tips on how to actually find the penultimate system evidently required for accurate operation of their program. Save your money and get something else. This program is a waste of time and resources.

The video transfers Im doing are good. The sound seems to be a lower volume and for some reason on some scene changes, it will be slow motion for 2 or 3 seconds, maybe there's a solution on the support site but thus far this has been my experience. The title and transition features work well.

This is a great program for getting your home movies and favorite recorded programs onto your Video iPod. Simple and easy to use. Those that rated it negatively were after a program they thought would circumvent copy protection which this program doesn't allow. Of course there are ways to get around this, i.e., loading AnyDVD prior to starting Video Vault...which, of course, may be illegal in many countries and frowned upon by the MPAA ;).

A few months ago, I was searching for a product to convert my VHS tapes to DVD format, as I am moving in the coming months and wanted to "downsize" a bit. The first product I chose was this one, and I was severely disappointed for a couple of reasons: First, any product of this nature involves a bit of an investment. One must buy DVD's and cases, as well as an audio/video cord (and probably an extra long one, if you don't have an extra VCR laying around, as it needs to be pretty near your computer). This product promises over a thousand channels, your lucky if you get a handful. You get many pop ups stating that you are not connected to the internet or the station is not broadcasting. I thought FOX broadcasts 24 hours a day! I emailed customer service and I got a quick automated reply that I will be contacted within 2 days. It is now 2 week's and have not heard back from them. I emailed them again a couple of days agao and they just ignore me. This product is horrible and so is their customer service. I can't beleive they are in business. Don't waste your money. You will regret it.

excellant product!! very easy to install and set up. the only down fall is the remote is wired, but you can get use to it. the lighting system just takes a little bit to get use to and once you do it is smooth sailing. very good product and an even better price!!!

After looking for a simple way to convert my dvd's to a format for the iPhone, I gave this a try. I use another Xilisoft product on my pc and like it a lot. I wanted something for my Mac and tried this. It was very easy to install and set up. Once installed, ripping your dvd's to a format for iPhone/iPod consists only of one click. Even though it's marketed for the Apple Crowd, the conversion can be used for other players as well. Xilisoft lets you download a trial version first. I'd highly recommend trying the trial to see if this is what you need. The limitation in the trial is that only the first 5 minutes of the dvd can be ripped. If you are looking at Premier Pro, you've probably already had multiple frustrating failures with other Products like Pinnacle and Ulead. You won't have those failures with Adobe. It has a lot of complex tools but once you get the basics, it's a breeze. I would recommend buying the "Classroom in a Book" if you need some tutorials. You don't get any technical support unless you pay extra (I did and I've made them earn it). I bought the suite and felt it was well worth it, but if you just want to edit your video and burn a disk, you might not need that much firepower (or want to spend that kind of money). After Effects is an amazingly complex bit of software but does some fantastic stuff. I definitely needed the tutorials for it. Encore allows you to set up menus - beware! This ... Read More
