Music Ace delivers! A wonderful fun filled format that teaches children to read music and understand musical notation. This format gives parents and teachers a great tool to support early musically learning. Used in conjunction with instrumental music lessons - this program allows kids to excel at a great pace while having fun at the computer. My son (6) looks forward to his computer treat of the day - playing music ace.

Bought this in August 2008 and I'm very happy with it. I mostly use the song editor to create vocal exercises which I use to train with everyday. I've never taken singing lessons (and can't afford them at the moment), so this is a great way to train my voice and ears. The sing-along pitch tracking system had me singing on key in no time, at least while I'm watching the screen. I have not had any problems running this program on Windows Vista 64-bit. The lessons are good for learning how the program works, though they are obviously geared toward kids. It's fun to mess around on this with friends as well. For $20 (and I noticed the price is dropping further), this program is WELL worth it.

I have had both the Windows version and the Mac version of this program and have found a few bugs in both: the Windows version has a more logical user interface but crashed OFTEN (1/4 of the time) ; the Mac version seems to be more stable (probably more a testament to the OS than anything) but has its bugs too - e.g., digital tuner is flaky (can only get the 'needle' to show up 1/2 the time).

I sent an email to eMedia support 3 weeks ago about the bug, still no word.

Just picked this up for my 9 and 7 year old boys. I must admit my expectations were low considering it was being released by such a small software company with likely very limitted resources. Turns out this is a great quality game. I think the graphics hold up fine against other similar video games, and the gameplay is first rate. There are wallpapers and simple animations in the background while you are playing, not animated characters like in "guitar hero", but who has time to watch the animations while your frantically trying to keep up with the notes on the fretboard anyway? After all, the game is really about the guitar and music and with over 50 songs to be unlocked, with a very wide variety (rock, blues, slow, fast, old school, contemporary....), all of course with great lead guitar parts ... When America was first introduced to Esteban, many played off his infomercials as nothing more than a "fly by night" trying to make a fast buck. He was a joke to many people, and he even made a comical insurance commercial. But Esteban is no joke, not by a long shot!!!
Simply put, he is a Master guitarist, and if you want to learn guitar, he is one of the best.
I learned to play guitar many years ago. And like many, I set it down after awhile and gave up on it. One day, I stumbled across a guitar at a very reasonable price and thought, I'm going to try it again. Some of the things I had forgot, until I purchased and played the vhs version of this extraordinary guide. What I Like about Esteban is that he literally takes you step by step into the world of guitar playing, and he does it so in such ... Read More

I got this to goof around with and to consider letting my 3-year-old daughter play with. The program is probably too advanced for my daughter, though I'm sure it's usable by some 4 and 5 year olds (it's recommended for ages 6 to 9). But I find it pretty fun, and it seems like, even for an adult, a good first step toward using Sony's Acid products. So I recommend it, but with reservations.

As another reviewer noted, the program expects you to have the CD inserted (the loops -- the building blocks of the songs -- are on the CD). This is a huge drag. There's a way around it, but it requires some computer savvy. Specifically, you have to copy an image (an ISO file) of the installation CD to your hard drive, then "mount" that image so that your computer thinks the CD is in your drive. You can then run Super ... Read More

I was skeptical purchasing this book, particularly since the reviews varied far and wide from other purchasers. Let me offer my humble opinion as a professional who makes a living recording, engineering, producing and writing in "the business".

First and foremost, I am neither an employee of WAVES nor am I associated with it's publishing division OPEN MIX. Secondly, I purchased this product as a marketing tool to determine what other types of media existed to help train engineers on specific software platforms, plug-ins, etc. Finally, I was already quite familiar with the precepts of audio engineering, having received multiple degrees from universities on this subject matter.

That having been said, the reviewer who indicated that you should RUN AWAY FROM THIS BOOK could not be more incorrect. While I'm ... Read More

I would really prefer a lesson were the video plays most of the time. This is mostley reading the screen, which is very small and they are so paraoid that you will copy it that they disable printing, The video really does not help much and i have been through half of the course. I personally would reccomend metal method with doug marks over this.
